So there's a few people asking Ed to do something for them.
I'd like to ask something else of the people attending the shows.
No, not to avoid heckling, I pretty much expect and accept it. Doing it with a great sense of humour, like Dale did, would be just fine by me, even adds to the show.
But my request...
For the love of god, please...
STAND THE FUCK UP DURING THE ROCKIN' SONGS!!!!!!!
Thanks.

Especially when the house lights come on. An easy cue if there ever was one.

At the PJ '03 gig in Sydney I was stuck in a section of people who were glued to their seats, I stood up saying to those around me "we're at a fucking rock concert" but they were all unmoved and I was really just preventing people behind me from seeing. I sat down, still enjoyed the show, but the atmosphere was pretty dull.
Same thing with Page & Plant back in the mid 90's, although when they got started almost everyone stood up. I was right near the stage for this one though as opposed to the crappy seats I had for PJ '03.
For these gigs I actually think seated works better, there's no band, no drums, bass, etc driving the body to stand up. It's just one guy (mostly) on stage and it's a more cerebral than physical experience (for me). In these situations standing up works fine if everyone does it, but if everyone behind you is sitting down you're really just in the way. Some of the most intense live music experiences I've had are in a room full of people silent, seated, and focussed on the music of one guy (or girl) and a guitar.
I'm looking to buy a single ticket to Ed's Sydney Opera House show, PM me if you've got a spare! I don't care where the seat is!
There's more than one type of gig, and there's more than one way to enjoy those gigs too.
I wave to all my Friends... Yeah!
I do too, 'specially when there's rockers being played. Very hard to sit on one's arse when one wants to get up and jump around!
Yay for everyone who didnt need to be told.
