However I prefer the book by Mick Wall. Its far better written, but it onlly chronicles up to 1994. (Thats when it was written). Great parts about the whole Sub Pop thing and The northwest

Definitely a red-flag that None Too Fragile promotes the whole "Eddie's Grandma Pearl" story about the band name, though. That little diddy is early in the book, too, so it kinda makes you wonder about other "claims" in the book...but for the most part I find it to be insightful and entertaining to read.
If you read them both, and if you check out some of Donny's podcasts (All That's Sacred), then chances are you'll come away with an entirely new appreciation of the band and just how freakin' amazing, lucky, and awesome it is that they've made it 20 years - and that we're all the beneficiary's of this thing. I'd recommend taking the splurge...
I should read it again.

ignore it..don't waste your money.
I'll surely throw myself into that, whenever you decide
I've never heard of this book before, but I've read part of Five Against One, so thanks: always great to be hearing about "new" (as never read) books.
I agree with this. I got a couple of chapters in and it was rough. There's also some shoddy journalism in there too. At one point the author mentions Led Zeppelin touring in like 94-95. I assume he meant Page/Plant but that's a pretty tough one to screw up!
Color version featuring Eddie from the 1995 Vitalogy tour! Anyone know of one that they would be willing to sell me? I'm assuming it's the first printing, but I noticed something...isn't it a completely different author?? Any help guys?
