Got us all to stand for Porch.

Yeah, I'm gonna take the credit for that.

It's not like I don't already stick out like a sore thumb with the mullet. Shooting right up in front of Ed's nose in a sea of sitters during Unthought Known and staying up... thank fuck the people behind me understood it'd be futile to get me to sit back down.

Arc was, i'm not sure of the words to describe it, akin to a religious experience? running with that it was quite possibly the closest thing i will ever come to having a religious enlightening experience in my life, as the religious say, apparently moments of enlightenment like that change your life.(i'm not religious and i've just sat for 15 mins trying to find better words but i cant) At the start, the cheers started and ed put his hand up to hush people and started, he was almost trance like. It was breathtaking. I had to remind myself to breathe about 2 mins into it. If there wasn't fu*ken idiot bogans around yelling out you could have heard a pin drop. Most of them shut up for that though.
That was definitely the highlight for me, Porch was unreal, Ed told everyone to stand up and just went off.
Picture in a frame was beautiful, pretty sure every woman in that place and probably most of the men too thought that Ed was singing that song to them haha :D
the version of betterman he did was mind boggling, reinvented and just beautifully heartbreaking, again.

He buggered up Soon forget, absolute crack up, to a roaring applause because he did screw it. It really felt like he was just there, with his mates, chillin out doing his thing, having a laugh and a chat... so very intimate

Society with Andrew Stockdale was mediocre, i would have enjoyed it more if ed just did it by himself, like i saw before someone said their voices just don't mesh well and much apart from that stockdale looked like he didn't know what he was supposed to be doing. his voice irritates me at the best of times so i probably shouldn't comment too much on that as its a biased opinion.
Hard sun was another highlight for me, awweeeesomme way to end the show, one of my faves off into the wild and everyone was on their feet singing along and having just the best of times.

IF ANYONE KNOWS the dude (i think his name was dean or something) who gave him live on 10 legs, $5 to send it back to him on the saturday night and asked him to take it back to get it signed by the boys, tell him that Ed specifically asked if he was in the theater and said theres no way he will be able to get it back to seattle and if he had of been there last night he was going to do something really special, but he wasn't. He said he would 'work something special out' for him :)

I am so completely awe struck by his humbleness and his love for his fans. Ed proves himself again and again to be one of the godly ones that make this world a better place to live in. After seeing that, i'm making the bold statement that it was the best live show i've been to, ever, and that's alot of shows.
In the car on the way home, i was so in awe that i was getting a little blearry eyed, my heart and soul were on the verge of explosion. if you get a chance.. go and see him by himself. it'll change your life.

gosh it's one of the best review I've ever red. Thx a lot

I'm going to share the credit- I was standing up the same place, row behind you, opposite side. Two nights of sitting for Porch- had to stand for the last night!

Great show- probably tops Brisbane 2.

Tosser in my row shouting out unbelievable shit- Ed told him to move to the back or whisper!

I got a laugh from Ed! Everyone was yelling out requests, and I yelled "Do whatever you want Ed". He liked that!

Got us all to stand for Porch.

Stockdale came on for Society- not the best, I'm not convinced their voices work well together. But Ed gave him a great intro. Came back on stage again for Hard Sun, with the girls.

Mentioned the band will start recording again in a couple of months. Implied Australia shouldn't hold its breathe for either a PJ or solo tour.

Haha.. well done K. What was it like being close to the stage, you lucky thing.

Well I would understand if we don't get another EV solo show soon but I'm hoping for another PJ tour in the not too distant future.

They will come back when the time is right. Once they get a new album out, then we'll probably get them. Not this year but sometime next, I reckon. I dont want them this year anyway cos I cant afford 'em, takes me a while to save for a PJ tour, tax time is a real blessing for me but I got other priorities this year. :) So next year would be perfect and I dont think we'll be the first cab off the rank to get them after the new album, either. Probably Europe, the US or somewhere they haven't been for a long time like South America. All good things come to those who wait. We'll get our turn. We always do. Maybe they'll decide to do Japan again after the wake of the earthquake/tsunami to give the fans there something to look forward to since they've had such a devastating time of late. I would imagine the band will get together and make some kind of donation to the Japanese cause, I've just donated to the Save the Children Fund cos I felt so sorry for the children who've probably just become orphans.

Just the messenger- of vourse I want them to move here, and tour all the time!

I loved how casual and intimate it all felt compared to a PJ concert. He seemed really comfortable and friendly, like he was just hanging out with (a couple of thousand) friends.

Arc was AMAZING. Definitely a highlight. Just his voice on top of his voice on top of his voice, building up and building up, right there, right in front of our eyes/ears. Couldn't have imagined it if I didn't experience it. Amazing.

Before Eddie came on stage, there was a guy setting up the mikes and stuff who had hair like Eddie and from a distance looked a bit like him (so much so that a few people yelled out to him thinking he was Eddie, and others were wondering out loud if Eddie was setting up his own equipment). Anyway, after Eddie had played a couple of songs, this guy came out to change guitars for him and as he was leaving someone yelled out "he looks like Eddie" (or something similar) and Eddie was really confused - he said "What? I am Eddie. What?" It was quite funny, but maybe you had to be there. When Eddie realised who they were talking about he said something like "Shit, I'm not that handsome" [EDIT: my husband heard "Shit, I'm not that asshole", which is probably right (I'm no good with accents), but I like what I heard better]. Also, the guy who looked like Eddie, and the other people setting up the equipment, were wearing what looked like white lab coats, so it was funny when Eddie (and the other singers) came on stage to sing the final song wearing these lab coats.

I might have to do the unthinkable and use all my spare money this year to fly to one of his solo US dates.

to the poster above - Ed definitely did say "damn, I'm not that handsome"

Another very funny moment to note from the show, which I think noone has mentioned in this thread yet - was EJ & Cecilia slipping flat on their arses as they were exiting the stage, right in front of Andrew Stockdale! They quickly got up and gave the crowd a wave although EJ looked quite embarrassed!!
