To some people music is "just there" and they like it..but can go without it if need be....
Some people live and breath it and can't survive without it...
everybody else falls somewhere in between.
where are you in this equation??
My dad was a Rock n' Roll musician when i was born(early '70s)..so as far back as i can remember i was always surrounded by music of all styles and genres..I've been into everything at one time or another (except country music...yuck!..I may be the only person on earth who listens to Poor Righteous Teachers & Pearl Jam! ) but nothing ever came close to '70s rock IMO..till the grunge movement that is!
The reemergence of rock to music in the early '90s simultaneously coupled with the hi-jacking/pimping of Hip-Hop (which was cast into the land fill by scum bag record exec's promoting gangster excrement) saved me from spending most of my musical life in the '60s/'70s (i still visit quite often)
I guess what i am saying is Thank you Pearl Jam/AIC/Soundgarden/Nirvana for providing me with the musical sustenance i need to help me march forward in this fucked up life on this fucked up planet!!
LONG LIVE ROCK!!!

Won't let the darkness swallow me.
it's the same with me, too!
I would rather listen to shite music than try to cope without any.
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come thru the music,
Would you hold it near as it were your own?
Celebration, the ball's in play
Music is a highlight in my life.
but i feel that music truly saved my life. it helped to fill a huge hole for me.

The world would be a very quiet place.
Music is in many ways the fabric of our lives and the definition of society. It is a reminder of how things once were, an indication of how things are, and a view of where society is headed.
We do not inherit the earth from our parents. We borrow it from our children.
it's a hand-me-down....the thoughts are broken.

Too many shows but never enough!

Mine was about music.
And my teacher was so impressed with my paper too. He said it really made him think what life would be like without music.
God that was AGES ago.
and I reiterate Crazy Breed's original post, LONG LIVE ROCK (which happens to be my favorite band's song )

Dream the dreams of others then,... You will be no ones rival,...

it is as important as food and water. Just as I couldnt survive without food or water, I couldnt survive if I couldnt go to shows or couldnt listen to cd's.
It changed me, and I continue to become the person I always wanted to be, as I listen.
mere words fail to describe how worthless life would be without music.
I wouldnt want to live in a world without it.
In short music is everything to me. I think about it 24 hours a day. Every second of every day is spent listening to music, going to shows, or thinking about shows and music.
music forced me to change.
I posted a couple weeks ago how music is the soundtrack to our lives. through everything, the good and the bad, its there. for some its merely background noise. something you turn on at a party or when driving in the car to and from work. for others, like myself, music, plays more important roles in our lives. shaping, changing, challenging, saving the very essence of our lives.
I could be walking to the store, I am thinking of music. I could be at work, and I am thinking of music. I could be dreaming, and I will be dreaming of music.
newsweek had an article on people's reactions to music, how it played an important role in peoples lives. but oddly the article didnt talk about what I refered to above.
I think music can change people's lives. to become more political, to become more alive. to become more aware. to become less political and more atune to life.
i know all this, because it happend to me
I'd say the same thing...
Me - Music = :(
Me + Sunglasses =
Whether it be in my room, which I spend a lot of time in, in my car, or sometimes at work.
So yeh, it is like air, I need it.
Same with me
