I swore there was another thread about this festival but I cant find it so sorry for re-posting. Anyone going to this festival in Gulf Shores AL on May 20-22? I think that the wife and I are definitely going to go. If anyone is going or went last year, looking for recommendations on where to stay.

I'd share a condo. Usually the best bet down there. Check out Orange Beach just down the road.

There are plenty of condos and hotels in both Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, but I'm sure they're pretty pricey. I would recommend doing a search on Hotels.com or one of the other travel sites to see what you might be able to find. I have a very close family friend who lives in Orange Beach and manages a couple of condominium properties that are owned by Kaiser Realty, but those are places that are in the $300.00 per night and up category. (There's a Sleep Inn in Orange Beach that you might want to try. It's in the same family as Comfort Inn.) http://www.sleepinn.com/hotel-orange_be ... bama-AL133

You might consider staying along Highway 59 in Foley or Loxley just north of Gulf Shores. These two little towns have several hotels which would likley have better rates. Pensacola is also a possibly which is only 30 minutes or so from Gulf Shores.

Panic fan here. Would love to go to this but lodging way to $$ for me.
As everyone else, waiting for PJ to announce the weekend. Then I will have a better grip on the money and vacation situation.

To all who go. Have a blast, it looks beautiful.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

Can't wait for next week. They announced the schedule

Only a couple conflicts for me which is cool
-Minus the Bear vs Dead Confederate - seen em both so probably check out minust the bear since i like them
-Flaming Lips vs Motorhead- I've seen the lips about 4 times and i think they would be the better show but i've never seen motorhead so i think i'll check them out
-Mike Franti & Spearhead vs Girl Talk- I want to see both as i've never seen them and they are very differetn. Maybe i'll do half of each set :?

Don't pass up Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. One of the best live acts you will ever see.

You just beat me to it EeriePADave! Lineup does absolutely nothing for me (I see acts I like, but no one that makes me absolutely HAVE to get on a plane, get a hotel, and buy a ticket). Hope it makes others super happy and that you enjoy!

+1. I've been the past three years and, as far as festivals go, love it. However, this year's lineup has only a handful of artists that excite me. Sure I'd enjoy seeing MMJ, Beck, Foos, Damian Marley, Father John Misty, Strand of Oaks and Cold War Kids but to divide them over three days.....I dunno. I may bag it this year and wait for PJ to play there in 2016 [-O<

Yes, and I'm so out of it regarding current music, I'm sure there are tons of great acts at all the festivals I usually eyeball the lineups of, but mostly I either see names I recognize but have seen or don't like, or I see a sea of names I know nothing about.

When the Coachella lineup was announced, a lot of people said 2014 was just an overall really underwhelming year for music. That's not to say nothing good happened, but overall, not a lot of standout whoooo hoooo new acts or albums from familiar acts. Which is why, they said, this year's festivals will probably underwhelm overall.

Hoping some still surprise, like Lolla and ACL! Not that I can afford to go to either LOL! But still love seeing the lineups and getting really excited!

When I first saw the line up I felt like it was pretty weak, but after checking it out a little more its not bad. I would enjoy:
    Foo Fighters
    Beck
    MMJ
    Spoon
    TV on the RAdio
    Jenny Lewis
    Future Islands
    Father John Misty
    Drive By Truckers
    Preservation Jazz Band
    Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires
    J Roddy Walston
    Strand of Oaks
    The Districts

    That is not too bad.
