White Stripes DVDs

Under Great White Northern Lights - To people who own this, does it matter which version? At Best Buy they are selling a cd/dvd combo which is the dvd and the cd packaged in a standard cd jewel case. At Borders Bookstore I saw a stand-alone dvd version. I am thinking of purchasing this soon and was just wondering is there anything about either version that sets it apart from the other?

Under Black Pool Lights - I can't find this ANYWHERE except like Amazon and the new copies are rather expensive. Any tips/advice on where to score a new copy of this without shelling out mega dough?

    As far as I know the only difference is that one comes with the cd...Under Black Pool lights= Pure electricity!...really an amazing dvd. Sorry I cant help to you out...If I see it out anywhere I'll keep you in mind.

    I have a tip . get the money out your pocket and buy it . then file a A-Z claim and get your money back and keep the item . God Bless Amazon and there stupid rules !!! ;)

    it's out of print, but you can usually find it somewhere for a decent price...

    Thanks for the replies. Any other ideas? What about UGWNL...does it matter which version? I mean is there anything I'm missing if I buy the cd/dvd combo than if I just buy the stand-alone dvd and the cd?

    I only have the dvd of UGWNL solo but I think the combo is just the live disc that was released with it.

    I only have the dvd of UGWNL solo but I think the combo is just the live disc that was released with it.

    The live disc released with it....that is in fact the live album we talked about earlier in another thread isn't it?

    The cdwow one looks legit and it's a good price but it says the dvd is "region free." What does that mean?

    The redtagmarket one looks a little shady and there's no image or product description, how can I be sure it's new and not used?

    The groovesinc one has a little yellow sticker on it which means it's a different region and would be useless to me here in the States. Isn't that correct?

    Can anyone answer these questions, thanks.

    i have the Northern combo & it's great. full dvd + a cd of the show(s)? works for me! Blackpool is awesome & easily one of my favorite music dvd's that i own.


    btw, i also have the Northern LP & it also sounds amazing! :thumbup:

    Region free means that it should work on all dvd players no matter what country because it's uncoded.
    red tag market- see if you can email them your question.
    groovesnic- Region 1 is USA, and Canada, so any other region would not work for that dvd in the states.

    So I got the UGWNL dvd/cd combo and it's great! I thought the dvd was interesting and well done...Meg is really quiet. The live album is solid too, I think they maybe could have picked better song choices but not bad.

    Also---I found a new copy of UBPL on Amazon for way cheaper than before...it was going for like 100 bucks,...I got it for 50. A little steep for a dvd I think, but it is out of print completely as far as I know and I've heard literally nothing but great things from many, many people so looking forward to this arriving!

    awesome! I have UBPL on my pc, but I haven't watched it yet. I want to be able to burn it to dvd so I can listen to it on my stereo whilest I watch it.

    their setlists are always different & off the cuff.

    also...$50 for the dvd??? :shock: i didn't know it was out of print. that's crazy b/c mine was only $10 when it came out. it's a great dvd, though. can't wait to see the new white stripes dvd from the vault!

    Yeah, I know their setlists are always different and off the cuff, I'm just saying they could have maybe selected different songs to go on the live album. Is it just one show or is it songs from a bunch of different shows on the 2007 Canadian tour put together on the disc? Does anyone know?

    Yep, 50 bones for the black pool dvd. It is in fact out of print. I was searching everywhere for a new copy and the best deals on Amazon were like 100 bucks new so I put off buying it. Then, I checked Amazon again for the hell of it and found a seller pricing it at 50 bucks for a new copy so I said what the hell? Everyone seems to love it so I'm sure it will be worth the money. Yes, it's a little expensive but I'm making an exception on this one.

    About the new White Stripes dvd, do you have to be a vault member to get it? Will it be released in stores? Also, aren't they releasing some other stuff too?

    found UBPL in a store here in Aus for $38 bought it...went back 2 weeks later they had another on the shelf :?
