Whats the deal for this summer people?? It's the bands 20th year anniversary something special needs to happen!!! Are the guys going to tour to celebrate their wonderful career? or are we just going to get get a multiple night stand at alipine valley in aug? I just want to hear what people think is going to happen in the summer of 2011 for PJ 20 and if anyone has any inside info that may help kick this off!!!!!!!!! All I want is a 2 or 3 night stand at Comcast Center (ie: Great Woods) Mansfield MA.

    I guess Alpine Valley festival in august or september ; people were posting some ideas but it dies off. It doesn't really matter when or where...I will be there! I just hope they provide a decent notice to plan travel.

    Sounds like the festival is the only thing in the works. everyone seems to think it will be either Labor Day weekend or the last weekend in August. I however think it will be in July. Sounds like it will be announced by the end of the month.

    Ummm...radio station, album reissues, another option for memberships, new goods, and a weekend bash to name a few.
    Just because they're not hosting it 5 minutes from you dosent mean nothings happening this summer.

    Is the Alpine Valley a go then for sure as everyone seems to be mentioning it - or is it still a rumour?

    I think they'll put more shows out than they're letting us believe - I'm hoping they'll hold 3-4 "3 day festivals" in the US with alternating bands at each venue. Would take a lot of planning so probably have to give them time to piece out the details/bands/venues/etc...

    I think they'll put more shows out than they're letting us believe:

    * I am not sure they can. There is SO much going on with PJ right now. They are recording a new album as wek speak. Matt Cameron is drumming for Soundgarden (who are also touring and recording). Jeff Ament has a new side band as well, called 'Tres Mountains'.

    I think they are just too busy to tour this year. That, I think, is why the festival. I am thinking their perspective is "I am sorry we can't come to your town, but you can come find us."

    Where will it be? It could only be two realistic cities - Denver or Chicago, based on what Ament has said

    (which is there will be a festival this summer. It will be Labor Day. detail will emerge publicly in April, and it will be 'in the middle of the country'. It can't be Denver, though, because of a non compete issue SG will have by playing Denver this summer. Alpine Valley makes all the sense. I wrote up a quick piece below delineating my logic of where it will be.

    Anyhow, I think the official word will be out sometime this week. So, y'all better have your ten club membership up to date. Like, renew TODAY. This very second. As you may or may now know, once they announce the show, the cut off has passed to get pre-sale tickets. Meaning, if they announce tomorrow... you will have had to be a member of the fan club by today. It is to deter scalpers.
