What can I say? I love The Church. I have loved The Church for nearly thirty years, even if I have not been able to keep up as well with more recent releases.
I just missed hearing about their US tour -- I'm bummed, because I would have loved to see things like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIHfbDrh ... ure=relmfu
(yes, that is over eleven minutes of awesome)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiIuOM8DbSY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJAXWKAZLkM
-- I remember literally running to the record store when Starfish was released in 1988. You all probably know "Under the Milky Way," but I happen to think that this song is nothing less than amazing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Gn_06Bq ... re=related
-- A shimmering song from their masterpiece, Priest = Aura.

When most people think of The Church, they seem to think 80's, synthesizers, etc. -- which is a damn shame. These guys rock.

All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

Bumping this because I love the band. I also think they are relevant to discussion of how bands like PJ turned away from what the music industry wanted. All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.0
