what other pj/rock/good music fans here have love for hov? i know rappers around here don't get too much love, ESPECIALLY the ones raking in the dough and shooting up the charts...however, jay-z is a genius, period. lately i just cannot get enough.

absolutely. those are probably my top 3 as well. reasonable doubt is #1 no doubt. black album is definitely number 2. third is verry close between blueprint and american gangster.

As much as I love Nas, "Takeover" is so much better than "Ether".

Reasonable Doubt is my favorite album of Jay's.

i have to say, i love the takeover and jay is my favorite rapper, with nas second. however, i think nas fucking came back and shut jay the fuckkk up with ether. that song is just out of control.

and yes, to whoever said it, jay is most definitely a genius. i don't know how people can't see that.

I just think "Takeover" is a better song. Love that Doors sample.

"Ether"'s lyrics are hard-hitting (a little too reliant on gay jokes though), but as a song I don't think it works as well.
