That's awesome. I wish I were a teen in the early '90s to see a Zoo TV show.
    Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

Not completely to do with the topic of this thread, but since there's at least one U2 fan here...

I have a "All that you can't leave behind" LP I don't really need. I guess I've listened to it twice, if that much, since I've bought new back then...

So I'll be happy to trade it for any of the Pearl Jam LPs I'm still missing, that's: YIELD, RIOT ACT and TWO LEGS.

If anyone's interested, just PM me.

    Thanks

I was lucky enough to catch them twice in 1992 with the second time being at RFK Stadium in Washington DC. I actually have a soundboard boot of that show that I will post one day.

The Zoo TV Tour was the first time I saw U2 live: 1992 in the arena in Milan (Italy) and the second time 1993 in the stadium (Verona, Italy) 2 days before the release of Zooropa. Both dates were in support of the album Achtung Baby. As Opening Act 1993: An Emotional Fish and Pearl Jam.

    Hell yeah PJ, that's awesome.

Washington DC had The disposable heroes of hiphoprisy?? and Primus :D

That is: you have seen them also twice: in the arena and in the stadium. At that time I was there for U2, I don't knew Pearl Jam, but a friend of mine said me: there is an interesting group as opener. Today I don't remember much of the shows. I have heard Pixies, but don't know Primus and Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy

Primus was a good band, but I wasn't to impressed with the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy.

That's a cool picture. I always have thought that the arena version of the Zoo TV tour was better than the Stadium version.

I haven't seen a video of the arena version. I don't think any stadium tour by any band/artist can match the stadium version of ZOO TV.

From the arena show of 1992 I remember that it was the first time that I saw a massive use of computer, video, fotos, telephone (communication - TV - new technologies) on a stage for a live concert. It was positive for me, the TV and the new communication medium were represented at a negative site (= you must be careful with them). I don't remember this for the stadium shows.

I must say that my first concert of Pink Floyd was Live in Venice (15 July 1989) and the stage was on a large boat on the water (without many lights and videos, it was a free concert), and the second concert of Pink Floyd was in 1997 (with a massive use of video back on stage).

Never knew they played Hampton Coliseum. They really played some tiny venues before Achtung Baby blew up that Spring.

Yes they played the Hampton Roads area quite frequently. I was at this show and the April 1985 show of the Unforgetable Fire Tour...a top 5 five show of ALL the U2 shows I've seen. I also saw them on the almost opener of the War Tour at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk then saw them back home at the University of Maryland's Cole Field House both intense and emotional shows.

The Hampton Coliseum was THE most used concert venue on the east coast back in the 80's and early 90's. Almost every major mid major and obscure band played there. I saw hundreds of bands and shows working security there during school. Bands I believe chose this venue due to it's acoustics, 14,000 fans when sold out and easy access to highway 64 when it's time to leave.

Some bands of course would stop by Denny's on Mercury Blvd where I also worked the graveyard shift. Those same bands and crew would stop in there to get some much needed nourishment after shows. :)

Hampton is probably the best indoor venure ive ever been to. I always lookk forward to seeing Phish there and try to make it to every show even though I live in Boston. The Dead and JGB used to play there all the time and under different names in the 80's The sound is perfect and it's all GA seating and on the floor. The lots rage and bands just seem to play well in there. Can't wait to go back. VIva La Mothership!

Yes I forgot to menton that GA is one of the key ingredients that makes the Hampton Coliseum so special. I saw Metallica there several times and i can remember several mosh pits breaking out while the band wailed away on the floor, it was too wild.

I think we need a petition to get PJ there!
