NO! It's at Wendy's! Grey Goose Frosty's for everyone! (It's called The Crazy Breed Freeze.)

I'll be there friday, if it's not shoulder to shoulder. Otherwise I'll find somewhere a little more comfortable.

Well, it'll be less crowded without you there, right?

Just kidding, and that could be a concern. I'm going to stop in on my lunch break to see about the private room (although the web site makes it seem more like a dining room). I'll also ask if it's too insane on Fridays for them to handle us in the regular area.

It's funny, from the web it looks like the same group owns both the Beantown Pub and Hub Pub. They need more original names.
*Does not include encore of Garden and Leash.

That is what I was trying to tell you guys. If the Hub Pub wouldn't give us the upstairs Friday cause it may be too packed, the Beantown is going to be crammed.

Find out if they will let us use the room. If not, I apologize in advance for any beer spilled on your sandles/shirt and rubbing myself against you trying to get by.

Me and my group of buddies are going to JJ Foley's on Friday night.
I love the Hub Pub, but it can get crowded.

The back (private) room at Beantown is not a dining room. People do not go to Beantown Pub to dine. :) Good pub food, but that is about it. Even if we do not "officially" reserve the side room, we can more or less take it over.

Also, the Beantown will not be "jammed" at the times we will be there, it does get crowded on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, but only after 9pm-ish, or if there is a show at the Orpheum (which there is not). I would bet that on Friday night 90% of the people there from 4pm-730pm will be going to the Vedder show.

One other note, when you walk in to the bar and head to the back, you will see rows of pool tables, the entrance to the private side room mentioned above is off to the RIGHT. Its easy to miss if you look quickly.

FYI, the last four photos in the link you attached above, are of that private room.
  • Saw this on the net about parking at Opera House (from 2007):

I went Saturday night. I'd say casual, nice, is the way most were dressed - nothing fancy . Only a couple of people in jeans. Enjoy the show (we parked in the Lafayette garage opposite the theater - tell them you are going to the Opera House . they'll charge you a flat fee of $10. Pay for your parking before the show so you can get out fast.

Also, regarding dress code (who says No Code!):

Were people considering wearing jeans? This is a house of opera, be respectful. White pants all the way, baby!

I plan on dressing respectfully as well but society is so laxed in this day and age I can see people in cutoff jeans and t-shirts at this event. Casual but classy folks!

I went and saw the Beasties a few months ago at the Opera House. I was in a baseball cap, jeans, and sneakers. I intend on dressing the same on Friday. Fuck those pompous fucks.

By the way, there were people in tuxes and gowns which I thought was riot.

OK, here's the deal with the Beantown Pub. Looks like the private room is not an option, the bartender told me you need to reserve it for the entire night, not just a few hours. But the back room with the pool tables looked pretty roomy, and we can reserve a couple tables to stake out an area. The person who takes reservations won't be in until tomorrow morning, so I'll call then if this sounds like a good idea to everyone. What time are people going to be here? I'll try to reserve tables from 4 to 7 if that sounds good.

The bartender said they don't get too crowded until around 6, so we should be OK unless a truly ridiculous number of people show up.

i'm thinking i'll be there around 1 or 2-ish.(took Friday off from work and i'm making a day of it) so i'll probably be there before most of you.

Oh yeah, if people want to show up earlier it won't be crowded at all. But as far as reserving pool tables, I think starting at 4 should be fine.

you figure people going to the game will clear out at 5ish so it shouldn't be too bad.
