The new Stephen King novel out this fall will be called 11/22/63

Sound familiar? Well the book combines two of my favourite subjects - the Kennedy assasination and time travel.
The title is the date JFK was killed. The book will be around 1,000 pages long. That's all I know for now.

I'm still recovering from Under the Dome. Between that and The Dark Tower I'm on an extended King hiatus.

I'm excited too. I was expecting the next one to be either the Dark Tower book he hinted at or the Shining 2.

This was a nice surprise because it caught me completely off guard.

Also he's not very happy about the reimagining of the stand, due for pre-production soon. See below:

I wonder whether it should be 500. Over the last few years he seems to waffle on and get a bit boring. I own loads of Stephen King and always loved his books but recently not so good.

He can overwrite, but I thought "Under the Dome" was a quick read even for being so long.

Then I may give it a go. It's the endless chatty over descriptive text that got on my nerves. I gave up with Lisey's Story after about 30 pages because I just wanted him to get on with it.

Now I can see what you are saying about Lisey's Story. I don't find that it's the over description that gets me as much as he is just inside a character's head for so long sometimes that it just drags. Of course, his biggest writing talent, in my estimation is his characterization but he does go on too long sometimes.

But yeah "Under the Dome" is a much better read than "Lisey's Story". Whether you will be happy with the ending is another story.
