Today, in 1983 the compact disk was introduced. Although it was a large consumer success till the 90's.

What was your first cd you bought?

    Good :?:

I was a huge hold out in buying cd's in the late 80's. Anyway I believe it was the Whitesnake album with
*In The Still Of The Night* on it. Fricking $18.50 at the time 1987? I could be wrong about the date, I can remember the cost but not the date.

    I found it...

After I got my first CD player around '92 or so, I made two purchases at my local record store:

    1. GNR - Appetite for Destruction

    2. Pearl Jam - TEN (no joke)

    Still 2 of my favorites

I'm sure it was something Who or Pete Townshend, to replace my vinyl, of which I still have even though I no longer have the means to listen to them

Along with the score to Jurassic Park. I had no idea what a "score" was at that time. I just really liked the movie.

I got 5 CDs when my parents gave me my first cd player back in like 88/89ish. I do not remember what all 5 were, but I remember:

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Pack Up The Plantations (live)
    Eric Clapton - Slowhand
Billy Joel - Greatest Hits vol 1 and 2

I looked through my cd list and I can't figure out what the other 2 were. Maybe a Rolling Stones disc was one of them.
