she stares out the window
her steel gray eyes
piercing,...
yet unfocused
all the songs he sang for her
all the memories he left her
meant nothing now

he could never give her
what she needed most
she waited,.
oh how she waited
and prayed
that he would someday see
"why can't he see"?

did he ever really love her?
the answer must be yes,..
though he always held something back
never able to give himself completely to her
leaving her empty
a nurturer,..
with no one to nurture

was it her?
or maybe that love,..
true unconditional love,..
scared him to death?
he could love unconditionally,.. and did
but knew not how to be loved,..
unconditionally

she feared he would spend his life alone
always an arm's distance away
she feared she would cry for him
for all her days
and knew,..
deep down
she must say goodbye
Peace, Love.

Steve - its your poetry that seems to speak to me the most...

Its always from the heart, soul and everything in between.

    Thank you for sharing. :D

I love this Steve, thank you
Makes me think of a small child...one I know quite well.
With each glance shared from his father, the unspoken is missing.
He craves a lifetime for something unexplained and grows to be a man avoiding his glance.
Eyes unable to meet, hugs with space between.
Unattainable with Him makes unattainable for all, never good enough yet all is more than good.

The small hand that fits perfectly within his mothers. Her tears shared while still in the womb.
Eyes that meet, that are never stern ....even when they should be.
This mother had found a lost soul and her own soul.
She knows they walk together to teach each other and hopefully to reach their Father.

If we only had the answers...even the questions would help ;)
Peace and love and happiness to you, the wolf.
