i'm pretty new to this whole vinyl thing. but i'm hooked, and now i understand why all of you are so crazy about it. i love it.

anyways, from reading this forum I know some vinyl is just a copied version from the cd, and there really isn't any difference in sound (like backspacer?) and other vinyl is made right (i don't know what the proper term would be?) to sound better than a cd.

when buying new vinyl how do i know which one's are actually good? is there a website you guys go to?

The biggest ones that do this are the import reissues.

A guy who gets involved in all things musical told me that vinyl can sound better because it's analogue so the sound is waves where CDs is digital so can crop the sound. I've no idea if he's talking bollocks. Unless you have a good turntable vinyl is a waste of time. It' the same with CDs, if your equipment is cheap it's going to sound ordinary.

With vinyl, you need a good turntable + good speakers= getting the most out of vinyl.
If you have neither, there is really no sense in listening to it.
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.
