This is sort of a "whoring my blog" thread but I think it's essential that everyone has this version of the Melbourne show because it's probably the best recorded pre-2000 PJ concert there is (maybe better than Atlanta '94 if you ask me).

    It is a bold statement....and one that I'm not sure I even believe. But this FLAC sounds great.

    Got this and was amazed!

    I'd heard the Sony Best Buy Promo and enjoyed it, but it was still cut together from the radio broadcast and wasn't the full show.

    I love this show from 98 whan Jack was still in the band, and since hearing this version, I've come to love it in a new way all over again.

    Dammit! I've waited years (since the whole '98 Best Buy "Giveway" snafu) for a copy of this show, and finally got a CD-R copy of it for $20 from a seller on eBay not 3 weeks ago and now I see this! Serves me right for paying for a bootleg! It is absolutely amazing show though, and it was $20 well spent! I still feel foolish though. oh well, live and learn I guess! Thanks for posting this!

    You're welcome and yeah it's better than the old Down Under boot cause that was sourced from the FM broadcast and this is from a promo CD...and a FLAC to boot.

    i havnt listened to this show in at least 8 yrs...i forgot how fuckin sick it is... and i love it even more now that it doesnt have that distinctive fm radio hiss to it

    it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...

    Melbourne Promo is alot clearer than the FM boots, think of the sound quality of Brain of J which was the B-side to Wishlist! It's like that for every song... including Jack's In My Tree!

    I know I'm going to get lambasted for this, but I'm old, the memory's going. I was at the Melb 98 show where Ed sang one line of Split Enz' 'I got you", and said that's all he was doing.

    Is that this show?
    If I knew then, would I know now?

    I still remember listening to this show all those years ago & the sound is awesome. I wished that the offical boots sounded like it.
