“If American workers are being denied their right to organize and collectively bargain when I’m in the White House, I’ll put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself — I’ll walk on that picket line with you as president of the United States of America. Because workers deserve to know there's someone standing in their corner”

"With our thoughts we make the world"
Many on here who voted for Obama have spoken out against his extension of some Patriot Act provisions. And, they have also been outspoken about the fact that we are still in Iraq (let's not kid ourselves) and Afghanistan.
Concerning the quote/video, in 2007 Obama was on the campaign trail, so it is not surprising that he made a statement like this. I take it as figurative language, and I take his inaction at the moment as not wanting to ruffle feathers in what is a state matter. He is in reelection mode, and he is carefully weighing the situation and his options of how to deal with it. Quite clear to me. But maybe not clear to everyone because he IS the first president to make a statement that he did not back up. A shocker!
Politicians will say anything to get elected and to gather the support of the people. We know this. That is why I laugh when I hear Ron Paul make such outrageous claims pertaining to ending the Fed or getting us out of Iraq and Afghanistan. It's easy to say something, but putting those words into action is a wholly different matter. (Trump's statements are even more hilarious). Everyone has a big mouth, but no balls (sorry to the women, but I couldn't think of a more gender-equal statement).
"who needs action when you've got words?"
i'd say the people perpetuating the system with their support have little to no balls as well

The world is what we make it, how many times has Obama faked right? He does it anymore and he'll surely end up out of bounds, in the stands, then the next President comes, and we will say the same thing, he's faking this, he's faking that, All this talk about one day, later, and time. What do we really know about time?? Yes the time will come, the Time in now my friend, what is the future but an infinite amount of nows.
Everyone making plans, thinking we have such control. We are all acting so selfishly, if we truly cared for the future, as it's been said, we must act now. Even a simple thought in the true direction, a simple right intention, do it now, right now. One must not sacrifice the truth for temporary stability, Think of nothing but the truth, the things that you love, the reality of it. Feel it, now act on it.
The world is the way it is because we have simply allowed it to happen. :(
Perhaps we need a return to innocence, a time when we had that truth. When we were truly free, when we could see the world for what it is, without preconceived notions. See the beautiful algorithm of life, grab hold of it, do it. Don't look back, Be...
Once you do, once you are, no choices necessary, as these so called leaders giving us a choice is nothing but a level of control, you know what's good, inside. Away from the ego, far beyond just ideas. The reality. Take it, it's yours.
In short, WE screwed up; WE are to blame.
Yes and also....what we can do about it.
I wish he was a socialist. And, instead of a muslim, I wish he was an atheist. Actually, I think he is quite secular.
maybe there are worldwide agendas, powers that be, that we don't see
maybe powers that have been in place over a century
and then some
to only grow strength beyond
what we can even imagine, beyond govt, beyond law, beyond morals.
maybe powers not necessarily for the greater good of all
just maybe
Obama is no more full of shit than any other President...in my opinion
He can give an awesome speech, after the execution type attack on a public servant.
He can rally the country, raise moral and gain public approval for his party....
we love the words and hang onto the hope it brings.
Hope against hope and eyes wide shut.
stop giving them your support and votes

Try this, 'Stop giving them OUR support and votes'. Even if you never voted for these so called leaders, we still support them, we support them with many of the things we buy, with the things we should be doing and not, we are supporting them. Levels of support. By letting our anger cloud our judgement, we are supporting them.
We can not make you see this, you must see it for yourself, for ourselves. But we must first find ourselves before we can.
Remember the 2004 election time in the US? Many people were so scared of a second term for Bush, so scared, then you had people like Nader, a man of truth. But people were scared to vote for him, rather vote for Kerry, they told Nader, 'Now is not the time, our basements on fire', People were too attached to their house, one that was already falling apart, this is what we do, we hold on to things, forgetting the transitory nature of it all, our 'home' we care so much about is nothing but something that will pass, as we will. But we rather leave behind a corrupted home, rather than let it burn to the grown and build fresh.
We would think that after 2 terms of Bush, we would of learned this lesson, but a certain thing inside the masses felt something, this was where the sheer brilliance of the Obama campaign came into play, he touted the few things that could and did trigger many peoples reactions from deep within, 'change' hope', and people ran to Obama, ignoring the fact that behind these words, these catchy words, was nothing but emptiness.
Obama spoke to AIPAC and roared like the Lion of Zionism, and we ignored. That was a wake up call for the people, but we ignored. We were blinded by 'Hope'.
Let Palin and McCain win, let them, perhaps when the country is truly truly in the deepest darkest pits, we will wake up for real change. Truly that is part of our nature it seems, only until the last moments of survival we realize what the reality is.
