Ghadaffi is an expert in Human Rights. No. Joke. The UN thinks he's so good, he should lead the group on it.

It's ok that he just slaughtered people for disagreeing with him.

Does anyone else feel that Ghadaffi should not be allowed to remain the head of the UN Human Rights body, after his killing of innocent people who were voicing thier disapproval ofhim?

LOL. So you think he should no longer remain the head of the UN Human Rights Body?? Well, that's one way of looking at it. I on the other hand think this man should be hanged, Mussolini-style. But, some people have different ways of punishing people for indiscriminate murder on such a large scale, I guess.

I see your irrelevant comments mixed with some patronization, due to some misplaced sense of superiority in your understanding, extends beyond 1 thread. I'm cool with it though. Do your thing. 8-)

Libya has/had a seat at the UN human rights council (due to the complex way seats are distributed for fixed terms), but this is nowhere near the 'Ghadaffi as UN human rights leader' you state! Libya is set to be expelled from the council today.

While there are quite a few counries' leaders that run it, Kadafi is one of them, with an equal voice to the others...whereas he should have zero say on any of this, considering his Green Book of amazing facts:

Hillel Neuer should be the new head of the UN. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillel_Neuer

Also, further facts (they're true, no? I read them on the internet!)

This has never surprised me. I love how nations are scrutinized by the illustrious UN Human Rights Council which includes such morally-righteous countries as China, Iran, and Libya.

    The UN is a joke.

The U.N. is a huge joke and has been from the get-go. Really, does anyone take this organization seriously? They've been letting countries like Iran, China and Libya point their fingers at the USA for all our terrible American human rights violations (eyes rolling here) for years....and all with a straight face!!!

The U.N. is a joke...I take them about as seriously as I take the royal family in England.

Sorry everyone, but this whole discussion got me thinking about the following scene from "Team America: World Police"

Kim Jong Il: Hans Brix? Oh no! Oh, herro. Great to see you again, Hans!
Hans Blix: Mr. Il, I was supposed to be allowed to inspect your palace today, but your guards won't let me enter certain areas.
Kim Jong Il: Hans, Hans, Hans! We've been frew this a dozen times. I don't have any weapons of mass destwuction, OK Hans?
Hans Blix: Then let me look around, so I can ease the UN's collective mind. I'm sorry, but the UN must be firm with you. Let me in, or else.
Kim Jong Il: Or else what?
Hans Blix: Or else we will be very angry with you... and we will write you a letter, telling you how angry we are.
