To the entire crew that makes the music of Pearl Jam possible
Over the last twenty i have matured, loved, lost, hurt, laughed and cried but along with those emotions i have matured much like you as a band has. Years as a teen were filled with fear, anger hate and the loss of a friend that was devistating to a 16 year old. My friend was named Jeremy and so when i heard the song Jeremy i listened to the rest of Ten and later Vs. Both albums helped me express and release my anger and other emotions through singing and dancing.
After leaving the house and begining a seven year commitment to the Army this is when we both began to mature. I found a positive male role model in my squad leader and Vitalogy and No Code marked a changed in the band. Vitalogy & No Code came with me on all deployments as well other tapes but those two were always with me. No matter what kind of day i had Pearl Jam was always in my tent waiting for me. From Louisiana to Kosovo to Bosnia, Nicaragua, Egypt, Georgia (U.S) back to Bosnia you guys were always there with me. Also to go along with these places your music helped me cope with a wife who couldn't keep her pants up while i was away. The songs that say it's going to be ok and that life is a wonderful thing always helped and still do.
Later through life i have dealt with injuries from the military, tramictic work injuries and the fact of not being able to work. Through it all your band has still been here helping me cope and look forward to a new day. Now i am older, wiser and a little more broke down then what i was about 20 years ago (Ahhhhh to be a teen again) and i have grown and matured much like your band has. I have gone through intensive threapy to help me with my PTSD from the Army. I do have severe back injuries but i'm ok with it. Now i play guitar and playing PJ songs puts a smile on my face.
Through it all you guys have been apart of my life. From heartache to joy you guys have been the soundtrack to my life. Your music has inspired me in many ways and has helped me as well i hope that you continue to rock and produce great albums and perform great live shows for 20 more years. Thank you for sharing your talents and hearts with the world.
Thank you keep rocking for 20 more
Mike
