There's no word on which band members he worked with on this, but there is mention that Jackson Browne harmonized on a tune with him and that Ringo Starr worked on a couple of tracks as well.

Give Till It's Gone Track List:

1. Don't Give Up On Me Now
2. I Will Not Be Broken
3. Rock N' Roll Is Free
4. Feel Love
5. Clearly Severely
6. Spilling Faith
7. Get There From Here
8. Pray That Our Love Sees The Dawn
9. Waiting On A Sign
10. Dirty Little Lover
11. Do It For You, Do It For Us

Yeah, this is one of those do or dies as a fan for me. I was really pumped about Relentless7 for a while, and after that, I have sort of had Ben Harper fatigue. Fistful of Mercy seemed to be good to me, but I just can't get into it for some reason.

I am still curious as to how this album will sound, considering the 00's seemed like a confused decade for him. A bunch of albums that were all over the place (producing both some of his finest and some of his most curious music) after the 90s were really an incredible output for him. I have a feeling this is Ben flying solo with just the guest appearances listed...though I think I would prefer he worked either with the Innocent Criminals or with R7.

No it looks like a solo project to me. Ben Harper has booked some dates as well on his own. Hope that means we are getting a solo and a R7 album.
  • I just checked my e-mail and found the same update. I can't wait to hear it and hopefully he announces a US tour soon!

On a side note- Marvel's animated movie Thor: Tales of Asgard comes out the same day!
...to live in the present tense...
  • So this may be different from the innocent criminal and R7? So much Ben! I'd love to hear some BH & IC's again. How about a little will to love and diamonds on the inside....

I'm just going by what Rolling Stone reported last year - I tried to find the link to the article, but was unsuccessful. If it's either a solo album or a R7 album - I'm stoked! REALLY hole that he tours some where close by me, too!

The initial report in Rolling Stone was that it was an R7 album and that is was actually completed last spring/early summer
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

Yeah it was listed on Ben's website as just a 'Ben Harper' release but it has been changed now to R7. Can't wait :D
  • I hyped for this one, but I do hope it's an R7 album.

I have the same hopes, but yeah this seems like a solo record.

Can't wait for this to drop though. I know some people can't dig on him, but I like nearly everything Ben Harper has done.

I'm not questioning you really, but I don't see anywhere on the site where it says it's an R7 album. The album cover just says Ben Harper on it.

Personally I've always thought that any Ben Harper was much better live than on the studio albums and since he's going to play in Denver, I'm pumped. As far as fistful of mercy I really think it's the same, download kexp's podcast of them live and see what you think of it then. And if your into podcast theres none better than npr's live concerts on podcast, some excellent stuff.

Right, only Both Sides had solo material, work with the Innocent Criminals, and work with what was to become Relenetless7. So then still no word on who played with him on this.

I also think it interesting that I can almost guess what the songs will sound like based on their titles...

Ben is real cool person A'S I met him back stage before and after the langerado Festival in South Florida. He carried on a conversation A'S if he was your friend or maybe he was so down to earth because my friend Michael Franti was with me. He had just released Both Sides of a Gun and we just talked about how rare it was for artists to release double albums.

I don't know if I'm just blind or something but I haven't seen a preorder for the vinyl on benharper.com but I just found it on Amazon for only $10.84. Although it says that the release date is June 21st so I guess it's not coming out when the CD comes out.

The website says vinyl pre-order coming soon so who knows when that will be. I'm holding out for the website pre-order since it might be signed like the CD was for a time.
