Taking the thread a slight different direction here, but if I were to buy one Zappa album, what would it be? I remember my dad back in his rebel biker days in the 70's and early 80's wearing his Zappa shirt proudly, but I can honestly say I don't know any of his songs.

This! I saw ZPZ a couple years ago, but still am not familiar with the music.

And that video is amazing. Censorship, of any kind, is a step in the wrong direction.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

My fave is Strictly Commercial, followed by Shiek Yerbouti, which is pretty off-color, but great nonetheless.

And I agree, that video is great. I'm impressed with his composure with the guy next to him. I would have punched him!

Yeah, it is. But it's not a bad album to start out with.
