I love this album. Could not stop playing it when it came out. Recently rekindled my love affair with it- had to let it rest after it was attached to some bad times and memories. So nice to have it back.

It sure is. It's amazing to just sit on the couch and be surrounded by that sound. I've always kinda wished I did some kind of drug, cause I can only imagine how insane that would be to be messed up on something and to listen to Yoshimi in 5.1.

"Do you realise, that everyone you know someday will die..?" One of my favourite lines from any song by any band. I remember hearing it and buying the album on the strength of that line alone. At the same time it's sad, true, scary and provokes thoughts that you would rather keep locked away to appreciate the small amount of time we do have on this crazy planet. I know a lot of Lips fans who preferThe Soft Bulletin but Yoshimi is for me their best work by far.

That line always makes me laugh. Is that sick?

I never understood why The Soft Bulletin was held in such high praise. I like the album, but don't think of it as a masterpiece.

I think Soft Bulletin is held in such high regard because it was such a transition for the Lips. It was a much different sound than anything they'd done before, where Yoshimi was a continuation of that sound that they found with Soft Bulletin.

Holy shit that was amazing. Wow... just wow.

I like Soft Bulletin but I think Yoshimi blows it away. I didn't really care for their newest one though, Embryonic. There was just nothing that really stood out on that album for me.
