Anyone else excited for this? This is a great band imo. Their live vocals aren't always the greatest but from I heard of this it sounds pretty good.

Oh yeah, this one has been on the "watch list" since I heard of the cameras at the Chicago show and they dropped it on very little notice. As the OP mentioned, vocals are not the strong suit of Mastodon, but live these guys are tighter than your dad's boots.

The DVD includes the 50 + minute video that was projected as they played through Crack The Skye on the recent tour as well.

March 15th cannot come soon enough, think I'll call my girl Mary Jane and see what she's doing that night 8-)

The last PJ show I went to was the best PJ show ever, that is until they come around again of course

Will likely pick this up, but disappointed in the set list. Way too light on Leviathan and Blood Mountain for this to feel like a good representation. And no Blood and Thunder????

I agree. Blood and Thunder, Iron Tusk, Sleeping Giant, etc. It's definitely a short set but it will still be cool.

If you want to see pre-Blood Mountain live stuff you might want to pick up a copy of their first DVD "Workhorse Chronicles" which covers the group before Remission through Leviathan. As for Blood Mountain, the best you can do on that is to get the deluxe CD / DVD of that album which the DVD covers the making of Blood Mountain.

Now you are up to date, again, March 15th cannot come soon enough!

cannot wait to pick this up, along with the soundgarden live disc.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

To clarify, I'm looking at this for the audio and not so much the DVD. Save for a select few, I've mostly gotten out of the DVD game; the hit-or-miss quality was a big reason for that. Workhorse Chronicles was a miss for me...sound quality was pretty subpar overall. I love this band and would have liked to see their first official live release showcase a broader spectrum of their work.

It has the fucking BIT on it. What more do you want from life.

Also the workhorse chronicles was killer.

Just got this in the mail today. As expected the vocals aren't the best but overall I think its a nice live album and DVD. Plus the Crack the Skye movie is pretty awesome and sounds great in 5.1
