Pearl Jam 20 idea

Wrote a piece the other day. It is below. I had an idea that all fans could contribute a composition detailing their thoughts on PJ's 20 year existence. Let's see how far we can go with this. Perhaps a full edition of Deep : P? The piece I put together is a stream of consciousness type o'thing. Comments? Suggestions? Cheers all. I hope this finds you well.

The reverberations of “Ten” signified a change. Social, political and personal commentary peppered
the porch and made us feel alive. Always aware. I still remember the back seat of the car I was
in when I unwrapped “Vs.” This was an exploration, a challenge to think that has remained and
shaped character and molded minds. Rearviewmirror helped me see things so much clearer while
the animal in me wrestled with small town thoughts. Let’s give credit where credit is due. Always
aware and changing. The intrigue brought on by “Vitalogy” had us questioning our immortality,
celebrating the spinning black, and asking for a betterman. Alternatives broke through and kept us
wanting more. Always aware and changing and pushing. Pictures lined the covers for this no code
generation. An influential band influenced by an influential uncle. The acoustic side generated story
lines and diverse themes proclaiming you are who you are while living in the present tense. “If
I had known then, what I know now.” A deconstruction and manipulation of sound. Always aware,
changing, pushing and forcing you to adjust, if you choose to remain. The soaring sounds of “Yield”
followed suit displaying a unity we feared would be lost. After all it’s evolution baby. It’s the next
logical step, the “given to fly” scenario put into practice. How often do the faithful congregate and
celebrate. “The whole world will be different soon.” Always aware, changing, pushing, challenging,
choosing, evolving. The sonic shift to “Binaural” exploded with grievances aired, wishlists provided,
Letterman appearances and the surge of b-sides. Nothing is as it seems, or so it seems. A first time live
experience. “Is this another place named after beer?” Always aware, changing, pushing, challenging,
choosing, evolving and expanding. The darkened sounds exuding from “Riot Act” empowering us to
think about our leaders, our elective process, and the selfish damage we are capable of. No, we can’t
keep travelling this road as our thumbing will only get us so far in this all or none situation. All
eyes fixed on the Love Boat Captain to lead us anywhere but here. Always aware, changing, pushing,
challenging, choosing, evolving, expanding and questioning. Now we turn to self titled. A collection
of songs that cannot be named. They stand alone but mean so much during this worldwide suicide.
Unemployable parachutes haloing the army reserve in hopes that she will come back and escape
that life wasted. Always aware, changing, pushing, challenging, choosing, evolving, expanding,
questioning and retaining. Finally, the all meat “Backspacer” makes its appearance known and shakes
the foundation of those fringe fans. A force of nature to the end with hints of opportunities to just
breath. This record confirms and instills that the machine is well oiled and firing on all cylinders. You
can see it in the live performance, feel it in the tones under your feet, in your gut the melodies remain.
Now they stand “On Ten Legs” waiting to play for you. Always aware, changing, pushing, challenging,
choosing, evolving, expanding, questioning, retaining and remaining. I'm going to see my friend to make it go away. A band that matters yesterday, today, tomorrow and so on. Pearl Jam.

Brad – A fan.
