Smashing Pumpkins bassist was on the cover of Siamese Dream

Billy Corgan has revealed that the band’s bass player is one of the two girls pictured on the cover of Smashing Pumpkins' ‘Siamese Dream’ album.

Nicole Fiorentino, who is 31 years old now, would have been around 13 when the album was released in 1993.

She joined the Chicago band last year, but has only just revealed to Corgan that she was pictured on the cover of the album.

Corgan tweeted last night from Twitter.com/Billy: “Just found out the weirdest news: our bass player Nicole just admitted she is one of the girls on the cover of 'Siamese Dream'.”

He didn’t reveal which of the two girls pictured on the cover Fiorentino was.

He added that the reason he’d only just found out was that Fiorentino "said she didn't want us to know because she thought maybe we wouldn't let her be in the band".

Fiorentino is a former member of Spinnerette and Veruca Salt. She is Smashing Pumpkins’ fourth bass player, and second since they reformed.

I'm sorry but i'm not really buying this. What are the odds of this being true?

    Yeah there is no way that he didn't know it was her.

    And did I miss something? How long has Billy Corgan been going by WIlliam?

    theres been some speculation that billy is lying or being at least untruthful. How old do the girls look on the cover? They certainly dont look like teenagers to me. The other thing was that someone has said that remember in 2007 when Billy had that thing where he had this worldwide search for the girls on the cover. The speculation was once they found them that they would become a band member or something. The new bassist was found around that time.

    The additional thing is how old is the bassist now? I heard she's like 32. So in 1993, she would have been what 15, 16. No ways those girls are that old on that cover.


    Seems like an insane story and cool if true, but alot doesnt make sense

    true but who took the picture and when. its such a well known photo and well known album, should be easy to find out, but i have come up with nothing via google.

    I don't know - a few years back he was trying to hunt down who the girls on the cover were. I'm more likely to believe that she's just bullshitting him, rather than it being true and "William" knowing the whole time.

    The picture was probably taken specifically for the album. I highly doubt that it was some stock photo they decided to use.

    He said he thought it probably was. I'm not really that bothered, would be cool if it was her though!

    At least it got half of the people to come forward.

    There never was any reported follow through from the 2007 search
