    Given everything behind this show, Long Road is the perfect opener. It's so poignant and heartfelt, probably one of the most emotional Long Road's played. Corduroy follows, Ed changing the lyrics to "oh everything has chains, absolutely everything has changed". Grievance, God's Dice and Animal are all super-charged with Nothing As It Seems easing the pace briefly. NAIS is pretty perfect here, everyone sounding good. Given how quick they play it now, Given To Fly sounds so slow in the intro!! The segment of Even Flow, MFC, Wishlist and Off He Goes is brilliant. Daughter is outstanding and like Long Road, so emotional. Ed asks the crowd to sing "It's Ok" with him. It's a particularly moving moment. The middle bit of Insignificance is a bit sketchy to say the least. Rearviewmirror and a 4 minute Porch close the main set.

    Do The Evolution kicks off the first encore. Ed changes the lyrics to "I am George Bush and my son is an asshole!" before the 'hallelujah' part. Light Years and Black drop the tempo beautifully. Sleight Of Hand is very good, aside from a slip towards the end where it doesn't quite sound right. Still a great song. Go closes the first encore.

    Ed returns to the stage with ukulele in hand, all ready for Soon Forget dedicated to "all the corporate assholes. We know who we are...". The rest of the band return to the stage and Mike dutifully starts to strum the chords for Yellow Ledbetter before beginning fully.

    Such a sombre but powerful show. I'd say one of the most important shows in their career.
