Stone's little solo lick

anyone one else notice this lick Stone has been playing to death in every solo in recent years? often multiple times in the same solo? if anything its kind of inspiring, cuz he changes the timing or phrasing of it, so he gets a lot of mileage out of the same lick...the main thing that stands out is how he goes from the note on the B string to the one on the same fret on the G string

if he were playing in E minor it would be:

e
B
12
G
12
14
12
D-14
14
A
E

  • I like the idea behind this post. I'd love to hear what other little licks people like from PJ.

  • I totally knew it would be that lick before reading it. Good work. Its a nice lick.

I'm not sure about favourite licks, but one of my favourite chord progressions is Grievance (at the end).

Real simple, E, F#, C, A. Just playing that over and over whilst singing along with the lyrics. Really powerful and effective!
