PJ Fest in SoDak
There is a farm that was turned into a festival grounds south of Sioux Falls SD two years ago that can hold 100,000 people give or take. Its smack dab in the middle of the USA and there are tons of hotels, motels and campgrounds in the area. Plus, everything in SoDak is cheap and you can buy booze on Sundays.

I know all of you ppl reading this think it's a joke.
Yeah it's a long shot but it makes sense to have the fest in a place like this.
1) Everybody is going to have to travel for this show anyway.
2) The band could get the venue for a very good price as the grounds are only home to one festival a year as it is now
3) It holds a ton of people and there is on site camping.
4) If it doesnt fill up it doesnt look empty either
5) It is miles from even the smallest town so no noise curfew to abide by
6) Its private property and cops arent present
7) SD is literally in the population center of the Canadian and USA states
*and reason "I" think ppl should take this into consideration
*People coming in from the west can stop and see Mt Rushmore on their way
Things are cheap here
PJ has only played in SD once (Rapid City 1998)

That would be cool.
When i heard it was in the middle of the country I was hoping it would be here in St. Louis. They just started a new festival in Forest Park, largest city park in the country, and it went off smoothly and there would be tons of room, hotels, etc to accommodate people.
I'm pretty excited to hear where it will be, if it happens.0 -
It would be funny and great due to all the Alpine Valley rumors going around. I'm tired of hearing about Alpine Valley...lets get this idea some legs.0

I just booked 2 campsites so I can bring a really big tent. And I'm starting to walk there now as gas is getting really expensive again, so I should make it by Labor Day.0

Why not have it at a place where everyone can go to. I am sure people will be shutout of Alpine Valley. A place like this will surely hold everyone that wants to go, however if it was here then 99% of the attendees will probably just be the Tenclub people. I doubt that there are that many casual fans that would travel very far to see it. Plus, I would up for it to be there since I live in Omaha.Noblesville 6/22/2003 St. Louis 5/4/2010 East Troy 9/4/2011

If you can bring in enough big name acts and guarantee appearances by friends of Pearl Jam, Townsend, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper etc. I think it could work.
As far as that dude that booked a room at the hilton,RC, SoDak 1998 - KC 2000 - Council Bluffs IA 2003 - Fargo ND 2003 - St. Paul MN 2003 - Alpine Valley 2003 - St Louis MO 2004 - Kissimmee FLA 2004 - Winnipeg 2005 - Thunder Bay 2005 - Chicago 2006 - Grand Rapids MI 2006 - Denver CO 2006 - Lollapalooza 2007 - Bonnaroo 2008 - Austin City Limits 2009 - Los Angeles 2009 - KC 2010 - St Louis MO 2010 - PJ20 Night 1 - PJ20 Night 20 -
As much as I would like other guests to be there, I think it would take away from the whole weekend. I would rather have it be regular PJ concert with maybe some rare live songs, and bit longer of a set, and a few special guests throughout the night playing with PJ. Like Chris Cornell on Hunger Strike, and such. I don't want it to be Pearl Jamapalooza (Lollapalooza) However, I could see a PJ acoustic set, then the opening band, then the regular PJ set.Noblesville 6/22/2003 St. Louis 5/4/2010 East Troy 9/4/2011

Id be satisfied with a regular two show weekend but if it's gonna get hyped up as a PJ 20 Fest then they might as well go big and really have a party. But either way. I just want them to announce this shit already.RC, SoDak 1998 - KC 2000 - Council Bluffs IA 2003 - Fargo ND 2003 - St. Paul MN 2003 - Alpine Valley 2003 - St Louis MO 2004 - Kissimmee FLA 2004 - Winnipeg 2005 - Thunder Bay 2005 - Chicago 2006 - Grand Rapids MI 2006 - Denver CO 2006 - Lollapalooza 2007 - Bonnaroo 2008 - Austin City Limits 2009 - Los Angeles 2009 - KC 2010 - St Louis MO 2010 - PJ20 Night 1 - PJ20 Night 20

Its bitterly cold from November to March. April, May, September and October are mild months with pleasant weather. And June, July and August it sits around 80 to 100 degrees practically every single day. So the answer is yes it is cold right now, but for an end of the summer fest, SD offers superb weather conditions.
edit : now its snowing and we're in the middle of yet another heavy blizzard.
