I am and will probably always be a sennheiser man.
I'm with you!!
I've had a pair of Sennheiser HD 25-1 II - Closed-Back Stereo Headphones for about 10 years now and they are AWESOME!!!
I think I paid about $200 for them back in 2000.
Extremely Comfortable and Durable, I use them everyday for work :ugeek:
In all seriousness, I do use the marshmallows for my Ipod, and they're really good. A far as headphones, I used to use Sony MDR-V600's in the studio. They only run about $100 ,and great sound quality. Only minor drawback is the "faux leather" covering the earcups is kind of thin and will deteriorate over time, especially in a dry climate.

I was considering the Bose QC15. Does anyone have them? If so, what do you think & are they worth the money ?
I think they are worth the money. I tried every pair of noise canceling headphones I could find over a two month span before committing to these. I've had them for 6 months now and they are worth the $300. Music sounds great and they even come in handy for noise cancellation alone.
Sennheiser...I have 2 pair...the HD280's are my rockin' out pair, great bass response, sounds great loud!...My other are the 595's....extremely comfortable, wider range, my chill out pair...both are great!...whatever you get, don't forget to work them in...I did 24hrs at high volume on both of mine before I started wearing them..sound much better now (2-3yrs later) than when I got them...IMO

Funnily enough I was going to post something about these marshmallows for the cheap earbud option - I have gone through loads of similar headphones for my portable players - and these ones are way ahead of the others, up to about 3 times the price. The design of most earbuds mean you can get some horrible sounds coming out - but JVC seem to have hit on something with this different design. I seem to lose or wreck this kind of headphone quite a lot on my travels - so is great to have found something that you can replace without too much heartache.

Klipsch S4 in ear headphones are very nice. They're in the $80 price range for in-ear buds. I found that the silicone tips caused the buds to slip out of my ears constantly when exercising. To alleviate this problem, a review on CNET.com pointed me in the direction of complyfoam.com ear bud tips. They're over priced but they work as far as keeping the ear bud in your ear.

I'd love to try these. Thanks for your thoughts on them.
Question. Is it really necessary to wear them in like you did - i mean by turning up the volume? Won't they work themselves in the same by just listening to them at normal volume overtime?
I have Sennheiser HD 600's and they are worth every penny. The sound is amazing.
They are an 'open' design-- everyone around me can hear what I'm listening to. Keep that in mind while you're looking at different models. Check out the reviews at amazon.com, they can be very hekpful.

Exactly - I've had mine for a couple of years now, and they've been stuffed in backpacks, coat pockets, glove compartments, worn to bed, etc. - and are still holding up! I've replaced the "buds" once, and have found that they do tend to slide off a little easier than when they were new, but for the price, these things just can't be beat!

I've had Sennheisers for the last few years and they were great, sound was fab for the price. My only complaint was the the wires went in the three pairs I have had (to be fair after a couple of years of being crammed in hanbags, rucksacks, pockets etc).
I've just bought Klipsch S4's for my ipod after looking at various ones and asking for advice from peeps. The clarity of sound is better than my old ones, and they highlight areas of the music which were lost before. I've only had them a few days so, I shall see but so far so good.
That being said I do still use Sennheiser ones for listening to programmes on the laptop etc...
I am in no way an audiophile, and no way I'll ever be one, so can't help techinically

Disagree with everyone saying Beats by Dre. They greatly distort the music and the sound bleeds through and can be heard by everyone anywhere near you. Great marketing has fooled a lot of people.
(I know a lot of people feel Bose QC15 distort the music too, but I never noticed this much)
In general, Sennheiser is a great brand because their stuff is high quality, but also affordable. My headphone brand of choice since 1997, when I discovered the glories of truly mindblowing headphone listening.
I went into this thread thinking you were going to ask which Pearl Jam album is best on headphones. And, to answer your non-question: ' BINAURAL'!
"I know I was born and I know that I'll die...the in between is mine"
I repeat there is a right answer to this.....it is not an opinion question. The fact is Bowers & Wilkins are the best headphones you can buy. You will hear things you did not know existed in your music:
I bought the Sennheiser HD555s for around $70 a few months back. The comfort is outrageous, and the sound is nothing to laugh at either. Look into them.
Sennheiser HD280 is nice for a studio style around $100. I also love my Monster Turbines. Never really thought Monster would know anything about earbuds untill I tried them at my local airport. They are incredable! Good highs and a low end I have never experienced with buds. I wouldn't skimp too much, a nice pair of headphones really brings music to life!
Sennheisers are quality products, I have a pair of HD 280 pros. They run about $88 on amazon. It is pretty good product, and it won't break your bank like bose headphones, I got those things about 3-4 years ago. However, just budget how much you want to spend, and the look at all the technical details of all the ones in your price range. Then find the ones that have the best frequency response, the best impedance, etc. I have found that bose headphones don't always have the best stats and ones that are much cheaper do. So if you get bose then you are mainly just paying for the name.

It sure must be a hell of pair. The downside is that it has a 1/8" plug (it includes the 1/4" adapter) and I prefer not using any adapters.
