"OFF"

the thorny flower
lay crumpled on the floor
drops of blood leaving a trail
to the backdoor
one in the chamber
safety in the "off" position
he took aim
and delivered
a volley of spoken death
she never knew what hit her
she called his name
but he was too far gone
he would hear her lies
no more
Peace, Love.

    Yes, very very powerful.

You know wolf, I feared your last post 'Goodbye' might be something symbolic. Glad you've come back and hit us with this one!

Symbolic only in the way of writing. I've been going through some major writers block.
I've been writing every day,.. It all just sucks.
Every area has been shit. I get a great idea for a song, and it just leaves me by the time I write the first verse.
Poetry has been an absolute nightmare.
Short Stories, I won't even try right now.
    Peace, Love.

This poem is intense...I don't believe you that it all sucks.
Writers block sucks though! What I find worse is when you have the images and ideas dancing around your head but they just won't leave....and land......somewhere!
    Keep writing.....your talent is real!

I guess it must go in waves. My work involves a lot of writing (not creative stuff mind!) and sometimes it just doesn't come, and other times it all flows fluently and doesn't stop. I tend to just try not to force the rough patches. Hope you are still enjoying life nonetheless - it's really warming up towards spring around my way now - was strolling in the park earlier - nice!

Don't quite know what I'm trying to say - other than - good luck and I feel for you!

ps - if the poem above is what comes out of a writer's block...... 8-)

it totally comes in waves. Sometimes you cant string two words together to save your life... The next thing you know you listening some pj boot and youve got the first verse of something youre not quite sure of.
I think even the 'shit' is worth something cause at least it means youre writing... Your mind is thinking... And that can only be a good thing.
    hear my name
    take a good look
    this could be the day
    hold my hand
    lie beside me
    i just need to say

There's definitely a lot to said just for 'writing' - writing anything, like you say. I have found over the past year or so that just doing more writing - about anything, has really helped me move forward, and get my shit back together..... Gotta keep writing!

fuck 'em if they can't take a joke

  • damn....strong as a double tea bagged tea :) I hope the writers block has gone because i'd like more....please :P
  • intense, strong, powerful and vivid.

agree with everyone else, writing comes in waves, to and fro.
but the block, the wall, the obstacle in your journey to creative freedom will eventually disappear
