What is your turntable setup?

So I've been wanting to do the vinyl thing for some time now, but the initial cost of setup is the biggest thing holding me back at first. The turn table itself doesn't really seem to be a problem, it looks as if I can get a decent one for about $70 - $100 on Amazon. My problem is that I have nothing to hook it up to anymore. I had a decent surround sound set up on my tv a while back but it took a dump on me about a year ago and I've never replaced it.

Any suggestions for a man on a budget that I can take to my wife and have her not just tell me to go away?

My cousin has these and there much better than mine, which are still good (especially for the price).
