Bright Eyes - The People's Key

surprised this new album hasn't been metioned here yet. it technically doesn't come out until tues, but it's been on the interweb for about a week now. incredible album. i hated it the first time i listened to it, but after a few spins, i'm hooked. definitely differen't from anything bright eyes has done so far, but great in it's own way. for anyone interested, you can get the vinyl on amazon for $18 and it comes with a cd. great deal. anyway, check it out.

    I had somehow forgotten to check for vinyl and just canceled my CD pre-order to get both at a great price!

    I'm looking forward to it and it's great to hear that you enjoy it, although saying you hated it the first time has me intrigued. Isn't there a bunch of spoken word stuff by someone else and is that part of why you didn't like it the first time?

    yeah, it had nothing to do with the spoken word, which really isn't as annoying as you may think, and it's only on a few tracks. it just didn't register the first time. come to think of it though, i don't think i ever loved a bright eyes album the first time i listened to it, and i love most of them. it's definitely different than the rest of them. but in a good way. hope you enjoy it.

    i forgot it wasn't officially out yet, i got my vinyl last week lol.

    i definitely am loving this one. i can't wait for the show.

    no one interested in bright eyes? this album is like crack. up to 50 plays on my ipod now, and 10 spins on the turntable. beautiful, hope it's not the last.

    I love it. I ordered the deluxe edition from saddle-creek. A very nice red marble vinyl plus an extra 7" vinyl with 2 extra songs!!

    I will be at the Radio City Music Hall show on March 9th.

    I liked it immediately, but then I didn't have any expectations, only what some people said on this forum. There is instant familiarity to it, it feels like I've already heard it, but in a good way, as it is influenced by the music I like. Didn't mind spoken word, as it is odd, not preachy. I like the imperfect vocals, didn't get all the lyrics, but so far I am good.

    "Shell Games" might be the coolest song I've ever heard.

    There were only 2,000 made. No weak spots at all on the album.

    Its fantastic. I know he/they have released a number of previous albums, but this is the first I've been into. Good stuff.
