so obviously this being a PJ board, alot of people are quite fond of the Ten box set and the upcoming box sets or reissues.

With that said, what OTHER bands reissues and box sets are the best of recent years?

I bought all the Doors CD's in the 90s, and still don't feel the need to buy anything else. Seems like those guys are always looking for more $$$ for stuff that's 40 years old.

    bad religion

How else do you celebrate 30 years as the world’s longest running and most prolific punk band? You celebrate with a limited edition Box Set featuring EVERY studio album ever released by the band pressed on red vinyl.

This exclusive offering available only in the Bad Religion and Epitaph webstores features the first OFFICIAL Epitaph pressing of Into The Unknown in 27 years, the first pressing of Generator in almost 12 years, the band’s Atlantic era which was either never pressed or hard to find, as well as the entire chronicle of Bad Religion’s studio output.

Just in case you needed the list of what’s included, you get all of these releases individually sealed on red vinyl:

    1. How Could Hell Be Any Worse?
    2. Into The Unknown
    3. Suffer
    4. No Control
    5. Against The Grain
    6. Generator
    7. Recipe For Hate
    8. Stranger Than Fiction
    9. The Gray Race
    10. No Substance
    11. The New America
    12. The Process Of Belief
    13. The Empire Strikes First
    14. New Maps Of Hell
    15. The Dissent Of Man
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?

  • The Super Deluxe Telephantasm set from Soundgarden was great.

The old grey Led Zep one with all the albums remastered was amazing.

The Iron Maiden Eddie's Head one from the late 90's was fabulous. The head stored the discs and Eddie's eyes lit up red.
    My Pearl Jam shows: 1 in 1995, 2 in 1998, 20 in 2003, 13 in 2006, 3 in 2007, 8 in 2008, 5 in 2009, 4 in 2010, 5 in 2012. EV: 8 in 2011, 1 in 2012. Brad: 1 in 1998, 1 in 2002.
  • The last waltz
Springsteen darkness and born to run
    SRV...whatever it's called
    Cash at Folsom Prison
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

So many different kinds of box sets. For just single albums, it's definitely Bruce Springsteen's Darkness On The Edge Of Town (aka The Promise). For retrospective, my favorite is Hall & Oates recent 4CD set. For live, it's Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Anthology and The Last Waltz.

But the king of all box sets is The Beatles Stereo and Mono.

Is that Shine On? Or something different?

I love the Nirvana Box set, the Jimi Hendrix one is really good, the Robert Johnson tapes and as mentioned the SRV one is quite good as well.
    32 shows and counting...

The Miles sets look amazing, also would like to own those.

    My favourites include:

The Band + Guests - The Last Waltz
The Pogues - Just Look Them In The Eye And Say Pogue Mahone
    Stevie Ray Vaughan - SRV
    Kraftwerk - Der Katalog
The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits
