What was the date of the Mets/Phillies game where a crucial Hernandez error opened the door to a five run Phillies 9th and cost the Mets the game?
"Our day...was ruined."
JUNE 14TH, 1987. Flag Day and also Your Juggler's birthday.
Correct.
I looked it up and actually, the Phillies beat the Expos on that day and the Mets beat the Pirates. Can't fault Seinfeld though. It's not like they had Baseball Reference.com at their disposal like we do today.

Sticking with dates, when was the last time Jerry vomited? Bonus question: what was the date of the time before that?
Royal Bakery....before that, I believe 1980 or 81?
I guess I should have specified that I meant prior to the Bakery. The date was June 29, 1980. And prior to that, June 29, 1972. "That's why during the '80 vomit, I was yelling to George, 'Can ya believe it? I'm vomiting on June 29th again!'"
I haven't seen every episode of Seinfeld but those that I did see on TV years ago got me laughing hard so I bought the entire series in a dvd box set. Anyways, I was about to binge watch last night and got up to "The Suicide" in Season 3 and Jerry's stand up joke at the end of that episode made me feel sick. I took the dvd out of the player. That really upset me. How is suicide a joke? I feel like a mug now for spending my $65 on this set. Wish I could return it and get my money back.

Calm down. It's one joke. Refresh my memory. Is it when he's going on about people who attempt suicide, fail, and then quit trying? And how they're basically losers because now they've found one more thing they're not good at? I mean, yeah, I guess that's a joke that could offend someone. But that's no reason to quit on the show. That boxset you bought is 90 hours of the best television ever made. You're gonna quit on it because 20 seconds of the 90 hours upset you?

Just going flag this now for everyone: this thread is about Seinfeld trivia, so if anyone feels like arguing about a contentious issue, please do so privately. Yes everyone is entitled to an opinion, but this is a fun thread intended only to discuss our love of Seinfeld and its trivia.

In most seasons , Jerry did an opening and closing stand-up comedy segment. In what season did they cease doing this?
Season 6 is the last season to have opening standup segments until the final episode of season 9. But even season 6, and a few season 5 episodes, don't open with the standup.
As for the closing standup segments, like the opening segments, they're gone by the start of season 7 and don't return until he does standup in jail in the final episode. But there are a good amount of episodes in seasons 4, 5, and 6 that don't have closing standup segments. Jerry has said in interviews there started to be just too much plot to try and service the standup portions.
And remember, many of the opening standup segments are cut in syndication. And in seasons 8 and 9, the standup is replaced by cold opens that are really bits that have nothing to do with the plot. Because of this, they're often cut in syndication too. Here's a little compilation of them.....

Name as many of Kramers’ friends who don’t appear on camera as you can. I believe there are six.
Lomez, Bob Sacomano, Jay Rimenschnider, Specter, and Corkey Ramirez is all I can think of
I wasn’t thinking of Specter. Which one is he again?
There are at least two more out there...
Specter gives Kramer his video camera because he's becoming a minimalist. But he also has a fat fetish...which Jerry feels should conflict with the minimalism. It's in the episode where Elaine records a sexy voice message on Jerry's tape recorder.

Ah, okay. I think I remember him now.
The other two: Len Nicodema.....Kramer said he stayed with him when he had gout or something. This was the episode where he and Mickey were stand ins for a soap opera.
Doug, Kramer's cop friend who gave him police tape in the Frogger episode. Jerry says something like "You sure have a lot of friends.....I wonder why we never see any of them." Kramer goes "They wonder the same about you." haha
