Yes. They tied that into a full circle beautifully.

I think it was meant to show just how little, if at all, they'd grown in the time of the show. they hadn't learned a thing, and nothing had changed. loved it.

I can't be the only one who thinks about this topic whenever shopping for shirts. It really is all about the second button.

Some background on how I even know this character's name. I noticed in the closing credits of The Van Buren Boys episode that a character was listed as "Lomez Jr." I was like "Jesus, Lomez has a son?" I assumed he had to be one of the Van B Boys. But after checking it on the internet (years ago, before IMDB made it so easy to do), I discovered that Lomez Jr was in fact this scholarship candidate.

I once attended a service at Lomez's Place of Worship and he was there. It'd have to be an amazing coincidence for it not to be his son.
