No, it's not. I've seen this alot, people are a little too overly paranoid about this. It's in Washington Heights, and you need to be cautious, but you should be cautious everywhere; you might get held up in the Upper East Side and you might be fine in Washington Heights. I'm sorry to take it out on you; I understand it's not what you were saying, but I've seen plenty of comments on the board about 'gangbangers' in Washington Heights.

Sorry, rant over. Parking's not great. There's food up there, not many restaurants, but there's a great Irish pub/restaurant about ten blocks down; sorry I don't remember the exact name. I think your best bet would be to park somewhere else and take the train uptown; the station is right near the venue.

the name of the beer place is coogans. its on 168th and Broadway next to Starbucks.
    Too many shows to list:
From my first show in Hawaii when they opened for RHCP to upcoming 2016 MSG and Wrigley. Seen them in every continent except Africa and Antarctica.

it is a city just like the rest of the cities in the world
    crowded good and bad
u have a much higher chance of being mugged in the ues than in uptown

true, just like some people have never gone past the 161 Street stop in the Bronx, although a lot of those areas are worse than Washington Heights.

i'm not stating that from a racial standpoint, just from the crime. but the bronx is much better than 10-15 years ago.

sorry to let you down. but for what it's worth i walked around the vicinity of yankee stadium and there's a really nice park that was bustling with all sorts of families and so on, so I'm definitely not scared to walk around the Bronx. Personally upper manhattan and the bronx are like a whole other world (not in a bad way) to me because i don't know what much of it looks like from my own two eyes and i've always had a curious nature about places i don't see too often.
