He has not won a superbowl without the video camera and now has lost two playoff games at home without the camera.
  • best coach ever? I'd debate that, but he is probably the best coach currently in the league.

But I bet even Belichick would say that the coach of the year is the coach holding the Lombardi trophy on the podium after the super bowl.

Definitely a good coach but there's a chance they've turned the corner towards the down side. They've lost the last 3 playoff games. 2 at home the other a super bowl.

Also when they won their first they were a low payroll over achieving club. Now they are at the top.

i would agree with jugs. NE is still a good team. they will be right there in the mix next year. the real question will be in 5 years when Brady is done.

i must admit, i did some digging on records, titles etc after that post.

you could make a case for him being in the bottom half of hte top ten.

i would not put him above Pappa Bear, Lombardi.

you could make a case that Guy Chamberlan was the greastest of all time

    4 titles in 6 years with a 784 regular season win %

my point was they over achieved this year. they completely overhauled their offense mid season and still won 14 games despite a tough schedule and a young and inexperienced defense.

i doubt the above poster can name more than half of the major contributers on offense.

plus they have a billion high draft picks this year. yes, a billion. i am not making that up. one billion draft picks.

not bad for his qb's -
    kosar
    tomczak
    testaverde
    philcox
    rypien
    zeier
and bledsoe (drew went 5-11 in bill's 1st season with bill), he sucked by then

i see him more of a defensive coach anyway
    points allowed in cleveland-
    91- 14th in the league
    92- 10th
    93- 17th
    94- 1st
    95- 20th (injuries)

    with new england-
    2000- 17th
    2001- 6th

It will be interesting to see what happens with all of those picks if there is no CBA. The Pats could shore up a couple holes by trading those picks for NFL players, but can't if there is no CBA in place.

they are set either way though. if it's resolved they can make trades and acquire veterans or more picks. if it's not resolved they have will have the most opportunities in the draft to improve their team than the rest of the league pretty much.

Besides just the numbers there may also be something to be said for dealing with players now compared to the past. Large contracts, off-field discipline problems, guns in the locker room, oh wait that's the NBA.
