The Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, (May 20-22) has just announced its lineup. (Tickets also went on sale today.) It looks to be by far and away the best lineup they've ever had. Foo Fighters, The Flaming Lips, The Black Keys, Drive-By Truckers, Primus, My Morning Jacket, Widespread Panic, Paul Simon, and many, many others.

This festival is fast becoming one of the best in the country.

    Cool..I've always wanted to check this one out and this year sounds like a fantastic year to do it....too much going on this year dammit!!!
    Foo, MMJ, Black Keys, Michael Franti, DBT!!!!, Warren Fuckin' Haynes!!!!, G. Love, Dead Confederate, Jonathan Tyler and Truth and Salvage Co.....wow that's going to be fanstastic

    So...sounds like Foo going to be hitting the road this spring for sure!!!
    All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

    When I saw the lineup posted this morning, I nearly spit my coffee all over my computer screen. This is some serious stuff. Now, I've got to bite the proverbial bullet and shell out $170 bucks for a ticket.

    Oh yeah man you can't skip that!!! My problem is work is usually a real bitch for me around that time...hard to take off...jeezus there's so much I want to see this year and now this made it even worse

    I'm definitely going. There's no way I'm missing the opportunity to see Wayne Coyne of the Lips roll around in his giant bubble ball on Gulf Shores beach.

    That lineup is incredible! I'll be at Mountain Jam the next week seeing some of them. Wish i could hit this one too! My dream summer vacation would be to hit every festival. One day...

    I saw this, looks awesome! Tickets went on sale today and I heard they keep it pretty small. Really looks like a blast though! :D

    Bought my tickets and booked my 5 night condo stay on the beach. This lineup plus the beach atmosphere can only mean one thing.....tits.

    i gotta seriously consider this one myself...really wanted to go last year but couldnt swing it but this lineup is rock solid. especially considering its only a second year festy. tunes on the beach - cant get much better than that :P

    It is just the second one isn't it? I was thinking to start with it was like the third or fourth but my old mind is getting pretty feeble. I'm so torn as to what to do this year...don't have enough income for it all.

    Foo Fighters and Flaming Lips are the only ones on the list I would really want to see.

    *Sigh* The Lips are one of the few bands left on my list to see in concert that I haven't already.

    this has to be one of the best line-ups for a festival i've seen in a while! wish it was a little closer to me

    The Foos and the Lips are my favorite two bands on this lineup as well, but there are some other dandies on the bill. The Truckers are an Alabama tradition, the Keys are off the charts great, and Widespread will probably attract more fans to Gulf Shores than any other band.

    I've honestly never heard the Black Keys. They've been on the list of bands to check out, maybe I should go ahead and do that. I do like Primus but the play enough shows near by me that I wouldn't make a road trip to a festival to see them.
