So will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow? Does it matter? If he does does that only count in western PA? How old is Phil now? According to some websites, most groundhogs only live to be about 10 years old. He's been doing this for more than 10 years right? Also he's only right about 40% of the time, so I don't think it really matters.

    I know that Punxsutawney Phil is housed in the Punxsutawney Library in an enclosure, which as a librarian who takes care of 2 in house guinea pigs I can't imagine having to take care of a wild animal.
    The first Groundhog Day took place in 1886-- He did NOT see his shadow.
    I found in a children's book that there are other groundhogs throughout the country that also predict the weather.

    I love the whole thing with the groundhog. As its so close to my birthday, Ive always wanted to go out there and get sauced on that town square and watch an animal try to predict the weather.
