"Forrest Gump" was the "Philadelphia" prequel

think about it.

It was clearly implied that Jenny had AIDS at the end of Forrest Gump. Judging by the way their "last days" together were potrayed in the movie, and the fact they had a young child, it's obvious that they "smashed" a few last times. Well, Forrest, who was unaware of her disease and how it could be transmitted, obviously did not have any tests nor did he use any protection.

Years later, Forrest becomes a very successful Lawyer after moving north to Philadelphia. It is there that he realizes he is now infected with the same disease Jenny had - the AIDS virus.

I see your point and I assume it's an attempt at a joke, but AIDs is nothing to joke about.

    Philadelphia was released in 93
    Forrest Gump in 94

so they made the sequel before the original?

I'm with you on this one. Having lost many friends to AIDS, I also have a hard time with jokes about it.
And I'll make fun of almost anything.

This was also my first thought.

I guess that makes Forrest Gump a prequel. I blame George Lucas.

im telling ya, it was animal house. Hanks was nuts in that show, his abuse of libations and drugs led to his character on Forest Gump. The years even fit

Forrest Gump was actually released after Philadelphia because they didn't want it to be obvious that they were in the same series. Thread title edited now that you guys caught on without me having to tell you. Great job!
