How about some poster re-issues for PJ20?

I think it would be awesome if PJ re-issued some of their most popular concert posters for the 20th anniversary.

There are some many great prints from their shows that I would like to see hanging on my wall (Dusseldorf, Chicago/East Troy 1998, etc). Based on the interest in the scratch/dent sales a few months ago, I am sure that the 10C would sell a ton of the re-issues. At $30 each for a poster, the re-issues would probably be very profitable.

I am sure that the 10C could partner with the artists to find a way to re-print some of the best prints. They could even date the prints as re-issues so that they don't destroy the value of the originals that are already out there.

    Not a bad idea

    2010 - Buffalo
    2011 - Toronto 1&2
    2013 - London, Pittsburgh, Buffalo

  • That instantly decreases any value of the poster. And for some people, that would anger them.

I like that idea - but make them 20$ - 20 is THE number of this year ;)

The reissues have PJ20 written in one of the corners.

For every 250 sold, a member of the band randomly signs one.

Now that's a great idea! Easy difference to spot the re-issues from the originals.

I love the idea of having some randomly signed posters. Imagine the surprise of getting your Chicago 98 print in the mail, opening it, and seeing that it is signed by someone in the band.

    This.

I have spent a while collecting my posters, and even though this would give me access to a lot things that I want that I don't have for real cheap, I wouldn't my collection de-valued as a result....

And re-printing things is a touchy subject with artists and collectors I've learned throughout the years.... It's hit and miss with different artists.... Some artists abuse it and reprint things until the market is completely flooded, and personally, I can't stand that cause I hate walking into people's house and seeing the same thing everywhere....

But, that's just my 2 cents....
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

You could make the same argument against re-issuing the albums on vinyl and people seem pretty excited about the upcoming releases. I haven't checked prices but I am sure that the value of the original Into the Wild vinyl went down when the re-issue came out.

Because the band works with a fairly limited number or artists, I am sure that it would be easy to control the number of re-issued posters

I agree with you entirely, but the collection in my portfolio does not.

I'm sure they would have no problem moving the silk screens, especially if they picked the right ones. And I'm sure I'd buy a lot of them, especially if they were to redo 98's.... it just breaks my heart a little to think about how much money I wasted collecting these items.

That would be kool. They just need to use a more durable manufacturer than DMB did.... After about 7 games of crib with that deck the cards were starting to fall apart a little....
