We westerners have a serious Islam problem. The masses of Muslims don't wave the peace sign and I don't see any tie dyes during THEIR protests.
Those who follow their God believe we all must follow their God. Muslims are in the process of gaining serious power.
A future US prez is going to have to make the decision to drop the big bombs.
Will this happen before or after they explode a nuke over there?

I'm worried. The fact is that our country has ended disputes with nukes killing 100's of thousands. The president has been set. If necessary this country will do it again.
The current events in Egypt and the Middle East are real. This shit is happening, let's discuss it.
yeah that sounds about right...we're gonna nuke the world on a tuesday, so let's abolish tuesdays, that'll fix the problem. we went through almost 40 years of the cold war, with nukes being as close as 90 miles from our own shores in Cuba, and managed to not destroy anyone or ourselves. I don't see how we are any closer or more likely so this happen now that it was then. Any country in the world understands that one nuke will mean total anihilation of the world, because everyone else with nukes will unleash hell...and no one will allow that to happen. We didn't then and we we won't now, and by we I don't mean just the U.S. I mean the world community as a whole.
No 'we' don't. Most Westerners just have a serious problem with their brains.
So are fundamentalist Christians, who are actually responsible for putting the 'mental' in 'fundamentalist'.
Why? Who's a threat to America?
Who's 'they'?

This what?
This what?[/quote]
oh, that's a way of saying i agree around here.
Hey, c'mon guys, Tuesdays are cheap movie night at the theatre here... Can we keep 'em around for just a little while?!
Generalizing is fun!
Why are you having such weired thoughts? ...peace...
Very reasonable questions.
When you think about it, most of the countries with nukes use them more as a means of self-defense and posturing. North Korea is the biggest worry because they brain-washed ideology. But even North Korea must understand the implications of an attack and that it would lead to a complete destruction of their society.
I don't think Iran would ever launch an attack once they announce "Hey, guess what fuckers! Now we got one too!" in about 3-5 years. But I would be concerned about nuclear material getting into the hands of militant groups ... that is my biggest concern.
The US would never use one because the military favors precise strikes and the collateral damage caused by a nuke would bring condemnation from around the world. And I don't think the major superpowers will ever get in a tangle because there is too much to lose now the we are a global economy.
Too bad we were even able to dream this weapons up in the first place.
Sorry I mean I agree 100%. Billions have been spent on nukes that are purely sabre rattling. Nobody would be stupid enough to use them.
There are several ways it could happen.
One, is that one of the non-NPT countries (most likely) intentionally detonates on another country. Surely, one cannot think that this is out of the realm of possibilities for North Korea to fire on a neighbor or for Pakistan to fire on Israel or India, among other possibilities. This would likely trigger a nuclear response for the US, China and maybe Russia.
Second, one of the countries could have its government overthrown and a fundamentalist regime put in place. This almost assuredly will happen in Pakistan where the government is already incredibly corrupt. Once a fundamentalist regime is in place the US might even strike first, especially if someone like McCain or Palin is answering the red telephone.
Third, one of the countries might sell weapons to other countries or terrorist groups, which once launched would probably trigger nuclear response by the US.
Fourth, one of the countries could lose weapons or have them stolen, which might have already happened in Russia.
Fifth, another country could develop nuclear weapons triggering US response (see Iran).
While any and all of these are unlikely to happen tomorrow or within the next year or even five years, given enough time it is almost 100% certain that nuclear weapons will be used once again and I think the US will take part - probably in a counterattack - in order to exert nuclear dominance. There are 23,574 nuclear weapons in the world. Are we really so naive to think that 100% of them will be buried in a mountain somewhere before a single one is detonated?
When? As soon as possible........
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
Step away from the Fox News......
........ wait for it..........
Ronald fuckin Reagan
We've used the bomb more than twice? I missed the memo. What other dispute did we use a nuclear weapon in besides World War II?
I think its going to take an actual all out nuclear war before we would ever launch another one. I highly doubt we would be the first to strike either, unless we had undeniable proof that someone was going to use one against us. If that happens, like someone else said, we are all dead anyways.
But if I had to guess I would say China in 2025.
Also there are way worse bombs nowadays, especially anything biological. The next war, whenever it is, will be quite the doozy, especially if its against a world power and not militants. Does anyone think we could go toe to toe with China? Aren't there like a billion people there? How many people in the military do they have? I bet its a lot.
...right because during the Cold War Russians were always blowing themselves up to kill infidels.
