I'm usually a pretty good speller but I swear I just typed the word 'privilege' 4 times before I got it right. Any simpler words give you problems?

Also not quite what you're after again but I always remember I was the only person who spelt 'separate' right in a spelling test when I was about 8 at school. As I'm typing it I always think, is that right & then I remember well it probably is coz I was the only person...... Ha ha.

I know exactly what you mean. I find that true for many words. Any word, really...if you stare at it long enough and say it enough times it becomes strange.
how do you spell check a post then before hitting sumbit

That is sadly my favorite feature of a Mac, the automatic spell check on everything.
Use firefox as your browser (I can at home but not at work) it underlines any mistakes

I have the British English add-on
You can have a word document open and type your message in there. Spell check it and then paste into the message box. Firefox does spell check but questions English spelling. It will highlight COLOUR for instance. Not sure if there is a preference but I can't be bothered to search for it.
The word I have a problem with is Ophthalmology. I always leave the first "H" out.
How do I get that? Better yet an Australian English....
Australian English may allow me to write things such as Fair dinkum, or struth without a red squiggly line appearing
