Singer Jimmy Buffett is expected to be released from the hospital sometime in the next 24 hours after falling off the stage during a concert in Sydney, Australia, according to a statement on his official website on Wednesday.

"As you probably know, Jimmy had an accident while performing in Sydney last night and was taken to the hospital. The doctors said he is doing well and will be released tomorrow," said the statement on margaritaville.com.

In video footage obtained by U.S. celebrity website TMZ.com, the 64 year-old singer is seen stepping off the front of the stage at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion and plummeting to the concrete floor.

It appeared Buffett had misjudged where the stage ended. Security officials immediately rushed to his side but Buffett appeared to have been unconscious for 10 minutes, TMZ said.

Buffett has released over 30 albums and has been touring since the late 70s. He is known for a country folk and island musical style which includes hit songs "Margaritaville" and "Cheeseburger in Paradise." Both songs are also the names of two restaurant chains which he owns or licenses.

Buffett also has his own satellite radio channel on Sirius XM called Radio Margaritaville.

According to Buffett's website, the next stop on his tour is scheduled for January 29th in Auckland, New Zealand.

    I saw E.V. fall off the stage/speaker in Cleveland. He bounces way better though. :)
