I wonder what a Sarah Palin State of The Union Adress would sound like? Probably something like the Neuremberg rallies.0

I own a coffeehouse in Portland, and my neighbor/regular-and owner of Hawthorne Auto, Jim Hauser, just got a shout-out from Obama!!!  :shock:KORITFW0

go listen to last years State of the Union
he stuck by all his statements but 1 or 2, I'm talking about the smaller ones, not those with several year expectations
start treaty
don't ask don't tell
and
Afghanistan to name a few
the one he did not keep was bipartisanship**CUBS GO ALL THE WAY IN......never **0 -
He hasn't stuck to much of his campaign promises either. I'm not bashing on Obama specifically. He just happened to be the one talking tonight:) I'm so tired of politics in general.......I haven't been excited to take part in an election in all my voting years because all you're voting for is empty promises.KDH12 wrote:JM4830 wrote:Just more political hot air.....things said, but won't be done...

i'll believe he cares about alternative energy when he starts giving them the amounts of money he throws at nuclear, coal, oil and gasdon't compete; coexist
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?
"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama

Im not blaming Obama either but he is still part of the problem of Presidents continually lying to the American public. Change? More like business as usual. Though I don't even know if half our populace has the brain power to understand how fucked we are. Presidents are not in charge and haven't been for a long while. They just keep kicking the can down the road, not fixing a damn thing while the banksters continue to transfer wealth.0 -
"we need to out-innovate the rest of the world"......then what ? out source our achievements ? to china or Korea where the cost would be less than half to manufacture vs the cost in the US.
just a sarcastic thought.

you can't really outsource a train line to china..............0 -

joking aside my comment was an off the cuff remark, my apologies.

People still watch these State addresses? Why? I mean, they don't say anything that really means anything, and they don't change anything. In my opinion, it's just repeated standing ovations (pure fluff).0

watch this speech and had to say was really not moved my it which i think was the goal of the speech. While i understand that in these speeches you don't get too specific i would like to have seen him say more about the debt. he was abit vague in that area. the part that i liked the most was when he talked about how the economy is changing and that america is not going to get those old jobs back again. that was honest and realistic. now on the other hand that lady from the tea party was just full of crap. i loved how she had all those charts cause it reminded me of Ross perot.0

No offense man but that excuse is wore out, every president is left with a mess to clean up and if you think about it unemployment has gone up to what 9.5 to 10% ? our debt has sky rocketed and the housing market is still circling the drain,I'm not saying he is better or worse than Bush or anybody else but his slogan for change has been misleading to say the least.
