I'm seeing them live for the first time Saturday. I'm interested to find out if anyone has seen them before and if so, how was it?

You are going to have a great time! They put on a rockin show- so much fun! Really lively, the audience is great. I saw them twice last year and danced my ass off at both shows. Have fun!

I'm so jealous! They are AWESOME, and like PJ, even better live. Put your dancing shoes on! You'll have a BLAST.

Here's a song I cannot get enough of lately, thought maybe you'd like to check it out!

Are you going to the Dallas show in a few months? I'm thinking of checking it out. What's a good place to get started with their music?

If you have the chance to go, definitely do so. As for where to start, I'd say start with either:
    the Gleam or Emotionalism
then move on the to Second Gleam,
    then maybe Mignonette,
and then And I and Love and You.

Jump right in and enjoy the ride. You'll be stompin' your feet in no time. :D

Nice choices..... I would even throw in one of the live albums. Vol 2 will give you a great feel for the earlier days and Vol 3 is close to how the shows are currently. Enjoy

we're thinking about it, Dan. it just kind of depends on some other stuff...but we'll know soon enough! as far as where to start, you'd be good starting off just about anywhere. i really like Emotionalism & The Second Gleam, but their latest record (I and Love and You) is really great as well! they just put out a live cd/dvd that's really cool as well. maybe we'll see you at the Dallas show!

Just saw them tonight at the Ann Arbor Folk Festival.

Great, great performance! Didnt know too much about them before hand, but they had tremendous energy. Great musicians, great songs.

Anyone with the chance should go check them out live.

Wow, Avett Brothers show last night was amazing. The live show definitely lived up to the hype!! Ended up in the second row and was blown away by the energy this band puts out. Highly recommended if you are considering seeing them live. Might have to make the trek to NH and see them in September.

Blew me away yesterday at Mountain Jam. SO much fun live and so solid- had the crowd going crazy! Between them & Michael Franti and Spearhead, I got a great work out! :)
