Triangles or rectangles? Or don't really care

I'm a triangular kind of guy...

I get slightly disappointed when I buy a sandwich and it comes in rectangles, like what happened today.... Bitch

triangles...but merely for the ease factor...if said sammich is cut into rectangles, I have to use both hands to eat, if triangles, I only have to use one. and also so if I am in a 'no crust' mood, it's easier to not eat the crust if it's a triangle

do you care if the sammich is like a philly cheesesteak and the bread is oval in shape? then straight cut, or diagonal?

    Yeah.....that ain't no cheesesteak.....

81, I got it covered. I'll bring the roast pork as well. Much better than the cheesesteak, as well as some nice Italian hoagies. Some sides of other salted, cured, meats and cheeses as well. And some pepper shooters.

And to answer the question, it depends on the sandwich. Club or BLT-style, rectangle. Soup and a sandwich? Triangle for dipping.

  • if im doing pbj i usually dont cut the sandwich. its the best way for jelly containment. that and putting peanut butter on both sides so the jelly doesnt soggy the bread.

i do have a grievance with how some delis make their heroes. i voiced this issue at work a few weeks ago when me and my staff ordered from a local deli. i got an american hero that had ham, roast beef, turkey and cheese. unfortunately, they didnt stack them but rather, stuffed them so i didnt get the meats layered so that i got a taste of everything in every bite. in other words i ended up kind of tackling the meats in parts. not sure if that makes sense to anyone. but since someone mentioned the philly cheesesteak i guess thats what im looking for, the experience of tasting everything at once.

im done ranting. now im hungry.

Retangles. Anything else is too postmodern for me.

Subs should be cut exactly in half, horizontally, but not all the way through so you have a hinge of bread at the back. The vertical cut should be precisely at the center of the sub roll.

That, my friends, is the proper approach to the cutting of sandwiches.
