Beck & PJ

Being a huge Beck fan/collector, this early gem is a favorite:

Beck: Bugusflow: (1993?)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8J3qrqEp250

Heard this was a play on Evenflow! Seems he's throwing some mud at PJ. Maybe back in the day he saw them as "straight to the middle of the road"! HA!

I guess by 2002, he was ok with Ed, and DAMN they're great singing together:

Any other Beck freaks out there?

after Pearl Jam, Beck is my favorite musician ever! I've never heard that song, thanks for posting. I have a couple cassette tapes someone gave me of some super rare old Beck songs, mostly early incarnations of songs that ended up on the Stereopathetic Soulmanure album. I agree, Ed and Beck sound amazing together. they should work on a collaboration of some sort!

what, besides the title, indicates that this is related to PJ? I see no "mudslinging" in the lyrics, as told by OP?

    unless i am missing something?

one of my all time top 5. Just wish he'd release a damn album soon.

    preferably something acoustic

Nothing in the lyrics, but I'm listening right now to Beck appearance on KCRW from 1994 and he said "yeah, that songs about pearl jam... "

Yeah, Beck is amazing. His early stuff (largely unreleased) Is AMAZING. Truly the Woody Guthrie of the 90's.

If you're curious, I'm listing to Beck's 1994 appearance on KCRW. Downloaded it here:

OK.. sorry for the repeat posts... but it's interesting hearing Beck poke fun at PJ right before "Loser" becomes the MTV novelty of the decade!

Love Beck. Have all his albums. Would like a new one this year. Anyone know if he's working on something? Would love to see him live one day. That would make me very happy. He doesn't come up to Canada very often though. Hope he and Ed collaborate again. That's as good as it gets right there!

i just recently got into beck. i wouldnt call myself a huge fan only because i just started listening, but from what i've heard he's pretty kick ass.

speaking of throwing mud at people, does anyone remember the song "you get what you give" by the new radicals? one hit wonder, but pretty catchy song lol
there's a line in the song that goes something like "fashion shoots with beck and hanson, courtney love and marilyn manson, you're all fakes run to your mansion"... where did that come from? i never really thought of beck as fake. can anyone shed some light on that for me?

My favorite non released Beck song. They say it may be released someday but we'll see. Bottom line is this is why he is the best

also, my favorite Beck song performed live:

Love Beck. "Debra" from Midnite Vultures is one of my favorites. It really sounds a lot like David Bowie's "Win".
