Phish - Watkins Glen, NY - IT'S OFFICIAL

This thing is like 15 minutes away... 7/1 - 7/4 there's a festival there and rumor has it Phish will be there... no news on whether it's one night, all four, or something in between OR if it's a TRUE Phish festival...

    From what I heard I think it's a done deal. But probably will be 3 nights. July 2-4. The Indy car series usually races there on that weekend but they pulled the plug on it and Phish jumped all over it. Huge venue which can handle all the traffic. Unlike all their other festivals.

    There's talk that it'll be something of an anniversary of the 1973 Summer Jam at Watkins Glen where around 600,000 people(!) showed up to see The Allman Brothers, The Band and The Grateful Dead. If this is the case, I would hope the Allmans, some or all of the surviving members of The Band and some or all of the surviving members of the Dead would show up. Interesting to see how this would stack up, as numerous members of the different bands aren't really on speaking terms right now. I'll definitely go, though, as my folks only live around 80 miles away.

    yeah, like i said, it's crazy something that close to me personally... my angle is $1 waters and $1 hotdogs all weekend and hopefully netting around $2,000. Thanks Phish, you rule.

    i've had a lake house booked for a few weeks, looking forward to it, will be my first phish fest since lemonwheel.

    Hey, everyone remember this thread - we should have a 10Club meet-up once the fest starts. I have a couple friends who are members who don't post here, and they might tag along too.

    Love it! Booked a hotel for Hampton already, now I'm just trying to figure out Watkins. Can't wait though, going to be awesome - you said it best, thanks Phish, you rule!

    I think it's on as well. Mandy has pretty much ALWAYS been correct, and bandsthatjam is a fairly reliable blog/website.
