If we get good quality from any of the Boston 94 shows somehow....I will cry.

looks pretty sweet. $450 for over 60 discs ain't too bad either. everything i've heard from that tour is stellar.

Its definitely a high point for the Dead. They were on fire for most of '72. So many stellar shows from that time. '72 and Spring 77 are my two favorite periods.

i think it said like 8000 copies max or something.
The Rolling Stone article said that the Dead's archivist wants to do this for other tours, including the '90 tour.

Yeah, when you think about it this is actually troubling for the trading community. SBDs are supposed to be off limits once they've been officially released. Does this mean that you aren't supposed to trade Soundboards for the whole '72 tour? Because you should have bought a $450 box set? Yikes.

didn't think of that....
darn
I don't think the Dead will EVER take a live recording down - for 72 or otherwise.
Please do this for any tour from the 90s and I will send you my credit card number RIGHT NOW.
Please!

They took all the soundboards that were available to download off of Archive.org back in 2005. They are only available for streaming now.
These were soundboards that were available for years for trading acceptably.
